Ala Moana Nails — Local services in Edina

Very nice woman did a horrible job on my nails. Nail (regular) polish all over my fingers. I tried to direct her in keeping the polish only on my nails as well as pointing out where it needed cleaning up on my skin, but it didn’t help much. I’m not sure what the problem was, maybe a sight issue? Anyway, I tried to get the owner/manager’s attention while sitting there without success. Unfortunately I had paid and tipped prior to polish because it was regular polish. Tried one more time to talk with manager before leaving - he blew me off. I left. Went on an errand in the mall and noticed the polish had started to smudge (I sat for at least 10 minutes as instructed under the fan/lights and then was checked and given the go ahead). I asked the salesperson at the store I was visiting what she thought of my nails - she thought they looked terrible as did her coworker. They encouraged me to go back. So I went back. Again the manager showed little interest in me. I talked to another manicurist and showed her my nails. She started to suggest a do over, but I just said no, I just want my money back. I was given back the fee minus the tip. The manager (he became involved when $ was being returned but still did not look at my nails) started to say something about “next time . . . “ but I said there would not be a next time and left. I wasn’t loud or bitchy, but I was terribly disappointed since I wasted a lot time and had nothing good to show for it. I went to another nail salon where they too acknowledged the awful polish job. Thankfully, after another full manicure (which was needed to get all the excess polish off my fingers) I finally had pretty nails. I will never go to Ala Mona Nails at...

I'm actually still sitting here while my friends nails dry. I just came in here today for a simple manicure and a color. I was charged 18 dollars to have the girl rush through my service because she had to leave. I have polish on my fingers in 12 spots, one of the nails has polish lifting up near the cuticle, and you can see the cut marks from where she barely even clipped my cuticles. I have hang nails! You can also see where she put the top coat on and where she didn't. I complained to the guy doing my friends nails and he said "you can barely see it, it's only because you're looking closer than anyone else would" NOT THE POINT! if I'm paying you 18 bucks to paint my nails they should look better than the job I could do myself at home!! WORST NAIL SALON EVER! I had Kim do acrylics nails on me and it HURT THE WHOLE TIME. This was my third time going and MY LAST! KIM MADE ONE OF MY FINGERS BLEED. Currently all my finger are sore. she literally said “oops it’s too sharp, sorry.” I’ve never been so mad. Plus she even messed up one of my nails it has a black spot on my white nail! Her customer service was the worst, she didn’t even say a word to me other than what shape I wanted and that she was sorry for making me bleed.
