A Culinary Escape at RH Rooftop, Edina: A Must Read Review
Nestled atop the chic RH showroom in Edina, MN, RH Rooftop Dining offers a dining experience that transcends the ordinary and transports patrons to a realm of elegance and sophistication. As I stepped into this exquisite venue, I was immediately enveloped in an atmosphere defined by its tasteful decor—a harmonious blend of plush furnishings, ornate gold-framed mirrors, and an inviting warmth that beckons guests to linger.
The ground floor, a stylish retail space, serves as a prelude to the culinary adventure that awaits above. A welcoming greeter, brimming with genuine hospitality, guided us to the elevator, which afforded a seamless ascent to the dining area. It is worth noting the establishment's commitment to accessibility, ensuring that all guests can partake in the experience without hindrance. For me this was important, as being one with a disability.
Upon exiting the elevator, one is instantly transported into a captivating sanctuary. The restaurant is adorned with stunning chandeliers that cast a soft glow over the space, while a fully functional water fountain adds a soothing element to the ambiance. The panoramic views of the city provide a breathtaking backdrop, complemented by a wine bar that invites exploration. Our greeting from the Maître d’ was equally delightful; her warm demeanor set the tone for what would become an exceptional evening.
Seated in plush comfort, we were fortunate to have Haley as our waitress—a consummate professional whose attentiveness and genuine passion for her work shone through. Her ability to make us feel like the sole focus of her attention enhanced our dining experience immeasurably.
Now, to the culinary offerings: we began with a tantalizing cup of truffle fries, accompanied by six generously sized grilled shrimp. As a pescatarian, I was thrilled by the selection, and the shrimp did not disappoint. Prepared to perfection, they were succulent and served at the ideal temperature, with a presentation that was as pleasing to the eye as it was to the palate.
For our entrees, I indulged in the WHOLE GRILLED BRANZINO, accompanied by an olive oil-grilled lemon, while my dining companion savored the 14oz sliced CHARRED RIBEYE, cooked medium. Both dishes were visual masterpieces, and the flavors were equally divine. The branzino was seasoned impeccably, allowing the grilled essence to dance gracefully on the tongue, while the fish's flesh was so tender that it could be effortlessly separated with a fork. My wife’s steak was equally remarkable; its buttery texture required little more than the gentlest pressure to cut through, epitomizing the art of steak preparation.
While we opted to forgo dessert this evening, it was clear that the establishment caters to a tastefully attired clientele, balancing sophistication with a relaxed elegance. Our total bill, approximately $200 including drinks, felt justified given the quality of the food and service, with entrees ranging from a reasonable $28 upward.
In summary, RH Rooftop Dining stands as a beacon of upscale dining without the exorbitant price tag often associated with such experiences. From the welcoming staff to the culinary delights, our visit was nothing short of extraordinary. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Edina. We eagerly anticipate our next visit to this culinary gem. Read moreI honestly don’t even know where to start with how disappointing this place was. From the moment I walked in, the whole experience just felt pretentious, overpriced, and unwelcoming. First off, the women working downstairs in the furniture area on floors 2 and 3 were absolutely horrible. They act like they’re doing you a favor just by being there. Rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Their whole attitude was so judgy and standoffish that it immediately set a bad tone. Honestly, who would want to spend thousands on furniture when you’re treated like you’re not even welcome? It made me want to leave before I even sat down to eat. Then came the food. For how expensive everything is, you’d think the quality would be top-notch, but it was far from it. The portions were tiny, everything was bland, and you literally have to pay extra for sides that should have been included in the first place. My toast was burnt, one dish came out cold like it had been sitting in the back too long, and another plate was undercooked—it felt like no one in the kitchen actually cared. For a place trying so hard to look upscale, the food tasted like a bad chain restaurant at best. And don’t even think about celebrating anything there. If you want to bring in your own dessert, they charge $10 PER PERSON for “plating” it. That’s ridiculous, especially when they don’t even offer real dessert options. The best they can do is a sad little sugar cookie with a candle. For the prices they’re charging, you’d expect at least a proper dessert menu. The service was just as bad. The servers come across fake—trying to be nice but clearly not wanting to be there. They were slow, inattentive, and gave off an attitude that made the whole meal uncomfortable. The only decent people were the hostesses who greeted us, and one manager who was at least polite. But that couldn’t make up for everything else. Even the atmosphere, which is supposed to be the “selling point,” was disappointing. Fake plants everywhere, you can’t even sit outside, and the whole space feels more like a furniture showroom than a restaurant you’d actually want to enjoy a meal in. It’s more about looking trendy for Instagram than offering a good experience. Overall, this was one of the most overrated and unpleasant restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Between the rude staff, overpriced and poorly made food, and tacky environment, I wouldn’t recommend RH Rooftop to anyone. Save your money and go literally anywhere else—you’ll get better food, better service, and you won’t walk away...
Read moreWe had an 8pm reservation for my fiancée Born Anniversary, it was our 1st experience & we will not be back.. Right away you could tell the waitress had a problem serving us almost as if she judged us as we walked in. My 1st thought was cause we’re black, but I said maybe she just had a long day. We ordered drinks & the waitress seemed offended my fiancée asked for a tequila sunrise as she exclaimed they only serve wine! Ok coo so we got wine, i ordered the shaved ribeye & fries. They brought out my bloody sandwich & I was displeased. I told the “waiter” that brought my food i would like my meet cooked well! He said no problem sir, he told my actual waitress & she got upset & starting fussing at him. By this time I’m over it. Food was just ok, overpriced, the prime rib sandwich at Applebee’s was waaaayyyy better. He served us then we had no waiter until it was time to collect payment then she returned. I told my fiancée give me a positive reason to leave a good tip cause i dont see one. She drew a blank so i left $5 just because. As we exited the elevator we stopped at a huge mirror to take pics… There was a Latino couple too so we let them take pics 1st, right away a guy walk up, tried to make us leave saying we’re closed, i said we’ll leave soon as we take this pic just waiting for this couple to be done.. He kept trying force us to leave but not the Latino couple. Then he went & grabbed another who did the same. I said sure after our pic. The other couple finished there pic they said nothing to them as they waited for there Uber, stood by rushed us called another employee to help get rid of us. When they seen i was adamant about my pics & wasn’t leaving until i got them, they still didn’t stop harassing us so we ignored them until we took our pics like the couple before us. It looked so bad the Latino couple came over to help with pics cause they didn’t like how they were treating us. Soon as we finished taking pics 3 caucasian women came off elevator really loud to take pics & they said nothing to them about leaving. As we put our jackets on they continued to harasses us.. I never raised my voice etc I asked how come you didn’t ask this couple to leave or all of these women to leave but you’re harassing us??!! They responded with have a nice night… I laughed & said yea i know.. I couldn’t help but feel racially profiled… We was dressed like we were going to a wedding & I came here to spend money.. We will not be back & as professional athlete I will tell my friends...
