UPDATE 4/02/25: I really can’t say enough terrible things about this place. I completely understand there are rules to follow and all kinds of nuances to pharmacy, but beyond legalities and regulations, this place has so many terrible processes that hurt patients that have nothing to do with following state or federal law. My in law is a pharmacist and even she tells me that they make things far too difficult, that it has nothing to do with the law. This place really does discriminate against those who have the greatest medical need. They even inhibit the filling of life saving prescriptions. One of the pharmacists here will treat me like a human being, but the rest are rude and combative. They ask for all these extra notes from my doctors about medications, but they’re never satisfied with the answers, but they don’t tell us what they need. It’s so frustrating. It’s getting to the point that Walgreens is opening themselves up to liabilities, legally speaking. Something has to give….one moment they’ll fill a prescription and tell me to pick it up, and then on my way there I’ll get another notification that it’s cancelled. The pharmacist seems to think I don’t understand basic math or state statutes.
I feel discouraged leaving a review because I know it will simply fall on deaf ears. Google reviews are graveyards for complaints these days. I genuinely believe this pharmacy is unsafe. Not the meds, but the staff. Numerous times I have had to go to the emergency room because of the lack of competence, compassion, and sense of urgency. The app will tell me my meds are ready and several times a month I’ll drive out there to get them only to say it costs $150, but here’s the kicker, they won’t let me pay cash for them. It’s a complete catch 22. I realize there are intricacies of my insurance, but they are unwilling to do their jobs and work with me. I have about 8 meds I have to pick up separately each month, this company wastes hours and hours of my time every month. I spend so much time there I might as well apply for a job. I know they wouldn’t have a problem with me sitting around and doing nothing. Seems to...
Read moreThe pharmacy isn't open 24 hours anymore. No matter what they say, don't believe them. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't. It's unreliable and misleading. They do not communicate that to doctor offices or online wellness clinics either because those places recommend and think that the pharmacy on York in Edina is a 24 hour pharmacy. I specifically requested my meds be sent there so that I could get a first dose in me asap and get better a little faster. Instead, they were closing the store at 10pm and had shut-down the pharmacy line before 9:30pm because there was a line from the pharmacy to the frozen foods or approx. twelve people. There were was one person working the pharmacy window. I stood in line for 10 min before I decided to leave. I'm incredible disgusted by this experience (and others I've had the past couple of years at different Walgreen), even so, I will not fault the employees who try to comply with unrealistic corporate goals. Walgreens pays bare minimum wages and expects the moon from its employees. When the pharmacies at Walgreens only did prescriptions, before taking on flu shots and vaccinations and whatever else they make the pharmacist do now, you could get your prescription while you shopped around for 20 minutes or less. Now, don't even think about it. They did one thing great--prescriptions; but now, they do 3-4 things are are mediocre at best. After suffering through 30 minute lines for over two years, I give up. Walgreens has shown me who they are and it sure isn't customer service based anymore. This one star isn't just for the York ave in Edina store, it's for the two in Bloomington, and whoever in corporate thought that they could branch into doing more customer service tasks without hiring more employees or paying them higher wages, it's for the ceo, president, and all the higher ups. Walgreens has failed at being the reliable neighborhood drug store and quick stop store. I don't recommend Walgreens to anyone anymore and I plan to move my...
Read moreMalik in the pharmacy should NOT be working in customer service. She has incredibly rude disrespectful and immature behavior, I have never been treated so badly. Her behavior was incredibly juvenile, tasteless and appalling. Not someone that should be working with customers. My son threw up while standing in line to get to our prescription. We raced to the bathroom but once we got there it was locked, I went back to the pharmacy and I asked if we could use the bathroom as my son is throwing up then Malick so rudely came in said it’s closed to the public with no sympathy or solutions as he continued throwing up on the floor. I explained my son was throwing up and she said do you expect us to change the rules for you?! Then I asked for a garbage can and she said I can go to CVS across the street and that I must be a bad mom if I didn’t bring my son outside to throw up. He’s sick which is why we are here, we are just waiting to get his medicine so we can go home. She proceeded being extremely rude and arguing with me when I told her I was not going to discuss this with her any further and asked if there was someone else that could help me instead. She continued arguing with me even after I told her I was done having this conversation and just wanted my prescription and to leave as my son is sick. She kept saying she didn’t care what I think, I then asked to speak to the manager (I should have asked for the pharmacist but I do not know how they did not see this whole scene taking place). She told me I can go to the front of the store and get her. I told her to call her back. I finally had enough and went and got the manger myself. She was apologetic and helpful but someone should have intervened much sooner. It was extremely embarrassing and disheartening, there was a long line of people behind me. I hope she was fired and they hire their employees that are working in customer service much more thoughtfully so one else ever has to be treated this way again. Unbelievably unpleasant...
