University Library — Local services in Edinburg

I visited the UTRGV library, as a student, during a challenging time when I was homeless and trying to secure a job to improve my situation. Unfortunately, the staff was not understanding or compassionate about my circumstances. I brought my dog in a pet-friendly backpack since I didn't have a place to leave her, and instead of approaching the situation with empathy, the staff was rude and dismissive. The UTRGV library offers extended weekend hours, remaining open until 10 PM on certain days. I particularly appreciate the availability of small study rooms, which can be reserved at no cost. The library is well-equipped with numerous printers and fosters a friendly environment where students can study comfortably. Open to the public. You can check out with a TexShare card but they also have an on-site yearly membership for $25. Many books on every topic. Esoteric. Specific! Books that make you question why they were published. They have everything from literature and I believe they a decent fiction section on the top floor. But this place is mainly nonfiction.
