I have not been to this school in 7 years, and they are STILL making my life hellâŠ..
When I first attended this university back in 2015, my advisor at the time said none of my credits from high school duel enrollment and STC would not transfer over. I had to take all those classes again. Come to find out with a new advisor that they DID transfer my freshman year and I wasted a whole year repeating classes and using up financial aid.
There is never any parkingâŠ.. I mean NEVER. Good luck finding a spot when you have class at 8am.
Some of these professors genuinely do not care if you donât succeed or if you are failing a class. I really struggled in Chemistry and my professor never wanted to break it down for me when I asked her for help. She always sounded annoyed that I didnât understand. The TAâs were better, but I still figured the professor would have a better response to some of the questions I had.
The supervisors at UCentral/Admissions have attitude and refuse to be helpful to the work study students they have working the front. They are left to take all the heat when they are only trained to do the bare minimum.
I have not been to this school since 2016 and moved to San Antonio in 2017. I now live in Fort Worth and have recently run into problems with them again. They have my account on hold and will not send any transcripts to my current school of choice. This also happened a few years back when trying to apply to a school in San Antonio. The first time I asked about the hold I was told I withheld my transcript from TSTC from them. I found that odd considering I attended TSTC a year after having left UTRGV and had no problems with them then. Wasnât able to get it taken off and missed my deadline to start school. This brings me to now, still with the hold on my account and STILL unable to continue my education.
This school will...
Read moreReason for my 1 star review is simply the experience from a hearing officer on a parking ticket appeal. Appeal was denied: reason: getting a previous warning. Why did this sit wrongâŠ? Before said âwarningâ I had reported my permit as missing/stolen since it never arrived in the mail. Doing so online was an awful mistake since it did not mention having to report it in person where before hand theyâd send me online to purchase it (yes Iâd rather purchase stuff in person), so me finally getting to my graduation semester (6 years of paying for a permit) got the bad luck of not receiving this latest one in the mail, and getting a warning, which you canât dispute, and then getting a ticket which was upheld on the basis of getting a prior warning when I have been waiting for my parking permit and simply not having the time to stop by late into the semester when I have major testing going on. If it was earlier around when I had reported it missing I wouldâve been cool going in person IF I WAS SPECIFIED TO DO SO. (Schools not bad) but this one experience makes a big impact when it affects: Me being able to get my diploma Was cited wrongfully Not given a second chance to appeal when I have done my part at reporting what I have needed to report. Paying $130 for one semester and a ticket for four classes held total that I attended in person this just leaves a sour taste on my tongue.
Edit: still disagree with decision, but from office staff was nice
Was a fun $130 parking permit that...
Read moreThey never have weekend classes, and evening classes are rare or non-existent. College activities, events, and classes cater to recent HS grads without a job. If you are a working adult with other responsibilities aside from school, this isn't a good college for you. I've had to skip entire semesters because all their classes are in the AM times, M-F, or be held back. After all, I need a prerequisite for several classes that is only available during normal working hours. Online courses are ok, in person classes are good. The financial aid department doesn't know anything, and they either say "we'll get back to you" and never do, or "you can find that information yourself online," or "send an email" that they never reply to. Not helpful at all. The dean's office never replies to emails. I've sent 3, for 3 different occasions, and never got a reply. There are a couple good teachers that I appreciated, but those are few and far in between. Parking is horrendous, If you aren't there at least an hour before class starts you wont find a parking. I've heard a professor talking about the job, asking students to apply as an instructor because it was "easy". He literally said "you start the semester with 200 students and you end with 30..." Most of the teachers really don't care, they are just their for a paycheck. I don't know how many times I get an exam with questions from the next months chapters or with stuff we never cover. They don't care and they don't take...
