Drove in on the 4th for some breakfast tacos and a couple of lunch tacos. The carne and rice tacos were fine but the breakfast tacos (4 bacon egg and 2 potatoe egg one with bacon and avacado) had egg shells and one had cheese. I called the store when i got home and let them know. Maria at the window said to come back when ever i could to get the order remade. Today i was going in town so i called and was put down on the counter, i could hear the remarks being made and after 5 minutes of being on the counter i called back. I then spoke with billy explained the situation and he said to come in. Well i drove 20 minutes for 1 taco when he confirmed on the phone he owed me 5. When i got to the store he stated i sounded different in person and that i was loud. Mind you i had to explain i was on bluetooth on my drive in. He made sure to let me know everyone heard my call at the counter and that i woke him up. I said well now you dont need a redbull and pointed to his empty margarita machine and said maybe you need one of those. In turn he said yeah maybe but after the call id never offer you one. After all the back and forth i left with a single taco. 25$ down the drain plus gass and i guess moral of the story check your stuff at the window before you leave. And no billy the fact that you dont have listening skills i would never work for you. Be a better manager and up your listening skills then you will keep...
Read moreI buy breakfast tacos from El Pato in edinburg right across UTRGV for my co workers and myself. But i will not be coming back because several different times i have had bad experiences with the people who work there. They are very rude and they dont have manners. They dont give you the time of day to ask for anything extra at drive thru, they shove the bag at your face and close the window. I usually check that my order is correct before leaving and if anything is missing or i need more napkins they roll their eyes. This week i had the girl at the drive thru repeat the order 3 times.. wrong. I corrected her and i didnt get mad. I figured she had interference with the headset. She asked me if i wanted salsa to which i said yes. I drive up, pay, get my order. She runs off closing the window not asking if i needed anything else. No salsa. So i wait and she comes back with an annoyed face. I ask for salsa. She replies with, "well you didnt say you wanted any"... i was like but ma'am you asked me and i said yes. And she argues that if i had asked she would have given it.. i just looked at her in shock and she shoved it in my hand and slammed the window. On my receipt it registers her name as monica. Idk if thats correct. That was only one incident... the staff really needs to have a training on manners...
Read moreSo my first indication of concern was that there were only 2 people in this location at 3:00pm today. Against my better judgement, we went ahead and ordered. My favorite item to order at El Pato is Chicken Guisado pato with lettuce, tomato & avocado. I ordered 2 patos this way and my son ordered a chicken quesadilla. Took our order a long time. But when our order arrived, I was pleased to see 2 patos that looked very stuffed. As soon as I bit in to my pato, I knew these were not the same quality as I've always known. The chicken guisado had a texture like ground beef. Oh well, I was hungry and kept eating. Opened the 2nd pato, and the chicken looks odd, not like deboned chicken that has been cooked in salsa. I took a bite and then just couldn't eat anymore because of the flavor and texture. As we drove home, my son said "you know, the chicken had a feel like canned tuna." And I thought, ok surely they wouldn't be using canned chicken for the chicken guisado? But that seems to make the most sense. Needless to say, I was very disappointed as El Pato used to be very consistently good food. Not sure what is happening, but I do know we will not be back to this...
