The process of home SEARCHING has been tedious, lengthy, defeating, and VERY time consuming. We had spent hours on the internet and then open houses searching for a house that suits our needs.

Then our friends called us giving us their good news of becoming home buyers! We were ecstatic for them and in the midst of this conversation they mentioned a name that would change our lives…Neetu. Neetu Aneja from OnTrack Realty helped them find and purchase their home. As first time home buyers, we were skeptical and nervous if we should be working with a realtor or independently. We thought, “Let’s atleast talk to her.”

After placing 2 offers that did not go through, we saw a home that looked great, but the open house was on a weekend that we were away and the selling agent refused to show at a time we could come see the home. She had become family at that point and we could trust her judgment as it was not all pros but she presented the cons. During this whole process, Neetu never tried “selling” a home or rushed us into making an offer. She helped us understand the work that would need to be done, the process of creating the contract with certain contingencies and even considered if this home is good for our baby! If it had not been for Neetu’s willingness to go to the open house, we would have never found our dream home.

We had quite the experience going back and forth for our home, through which Neetu was front and center! She communicated with their agent, shared our excitement and frustrations, and stood guard for any mishaps. She would answer the phone any time of the day and be WILLING to listen and brainstorm solutions with us. Once everything worked out, she was AS excited as our family. Homebuying is something most people do only a few times in their lives and so, have little experience with. Many of us need the guidance of someone with more experience. This is where Alka and the OnTrack Realty team shine.

Our house purchase happened after three years of hunting. Alka guided us every step of the prolonged search and was patient even when we made mistakes. Here are some quick examples of how her advice was invaluable.

Curation: We knew the towns we were interested in but Alka pointed out the desirable and undesirable areas in those towns based on our commute requirements, schools, the kind of community we wanted, prices and taxes etc.

Filtering: She also understood our requirements and was quick to point out houses which looked like good matches but had some hidden flaws or were not really a good fit or good value for money. We trusted her so much that we would just send her an address and she would just tell us if it was worth looking at the house.

Showing: Nothing escapes Alka's powers of observation - history of flooded basement, leaky bathrooms, covered up cracks, uneven floors, shoddy repair or renovations etc. She is also quick to point out which issues are worth paying attention to and which ones can be lived with.

Visualization: She helped us visualize what a house would look like after renovation, which renovations were worthwhile and what would their ballpark cost be. She also could be relied on to recommend contractors to work with and we did use several of her recommendations.

Exploration: Often, buyers get too focused on certain areas or certain houses and ignore other areas or houses that may serve their needs. Alka takes a broader view and is often able to find unexpected gems. In fact, this is how we found our house.
