An act of racial discrimination. 5/12/17 I walk into the Boscov's furniture department and a 3 seat pub table set on clearance caught my eye. Eager to buy I waited as this sales woman took her very little time to come over, she continue to service a white woman, answering all o her questions, and giving her no fuss.. I straight up said I want to buy this but I need delivery. The woman began to tell me it's 55.00 with a frown and I said that's fine. then she looked at me with a crooked face and I asked what's wrong now? and she stated " we don't normally like to deliver furniture that's already put together because it can get damaged. so I look at the table because it's huge and heavy. The woman goes to lift it and says "well maybe, I don't know" She began to cop an attitude and giving me a million reason why I should find someone else to take the table, even after I told her my medical condition and why I cannot carry this big table. i then said fin, just forget it, you don't want to sell me the table that's fine, the woman then said "I can do it, I just....I don't know. she shakes her head and tells me to come to the register, then she kept taping and reading at the register. I asked what the problem was now and she said "something's wrong, I can't ring this up, I'm gonna have to take your number. something is wrong with the sku number" I looked at her and I left. I never got that call. The next day that afternoon I spoke with Derrick who claimed to be a manager. He tried to back the woman up and explain the situation. Not once did he apologize for my time wasted or the way I was treated, he just stated he's been here for 24 years and never saw anything like this ever happen. He said look I can give you the table for 40.00 bucks flat if you can find somebody to take it. I told him I have no one! and I cannot medically carry anything. Derrick said well if you change your mind let me know and I told him I'll pass, I feel discriminated, judged, and as a manager you are not taking my feeling to heart. you are blowing me of without an apology. Boscov's employees have always been old and rude and I was actually use to it but this is over the top. I hope this store doesn't survive another year. You guys are...
Read moreToday, a clerk in the men’s suit department racially profiled and made my brother and I feel unsettled. I took my brother to this Boscovs to get new clothes for a school event. The older white male clerk would not allow us to process a suit jacket and pants along with a mens shirt and a couple other items in a single payment. When I kindly asked why, the clerk mentioned a strange policy (not being able to process suits along with other items despite the jacket being a part of a complete separate set than the pants) and then hung the jacket and pants on a rack of what looked like clothes that were meant to be returned to the racks. He then proceeded to wait and watch for the payment for the jacket and pants to go through before completing our other purchases. I believe he racially profiled us and made us feel as though we were unable to pay for the entirety of our items in full. There were items from the same department split in to two separate payments while at the same department’s check out. When my smile turned to confusion at the check out, the clerk proceeded to ramble on about some commission he was attempting to split with the others (I did not see any other clerks around and no one helped us anywhere in the department) which is also why he separated the purchase in to two payments. I do not believe there is a policy set in place and if there is, I highly recommend you change that as this made us feel uncomfortable. Please address this with your clerks and employees - I hope that no other individuals feel this unsettled while trying to purchase items for themselves or...

Since I live close to the Vineland location I always just kinda went there. Then one day I said I’m bored with the same old store. So about year ago I had a change of heart and decided that traveling 30-40 minutes isn’t so bad. Now I visit several locations north of my home. Matter a fact I stopped doing mostly all of my shopping in the Vineland area other than the local supermarkets close to me. Now I simply head north like it’s nobody’s business any time I feel a need to go department store shopping window shopping or any other type of shopping for that matter. And Let me tell ya… I can shop Lol.
Remember: You only live once. Just don’t over do it ya silly Willy’s. 😜
