I love experiencing food from different cultures. Other than Pad Thai, this is my first experience with Thai food. On 6 July 2017, I ordered the Curry Panang with the chicken spring rolls. I took it home hoping I was in for a treat. It was very sweet and not spicy at all like I asked for. It was too sweet. It's a dish I'd never order again.
Tonight, I said, let me give them another chance. So I ordered the whole striped bass with spicy basil. I also ordered the chicken spring rolls again hoping they'd be better tonight. Note, this all cost $37 bucks. Mind you, I chose striped bass for a reason since it's my favorite fish. About 5 minutes after paying for it, one of the waiters came up to me and said, hey, it's okay that we used red snapper right? We didn't have any striped bass.
I reluctantly said sure, no problem. Since I phoned my order in for pickup, it would have been nice for them to tell me no striped bass before I ordered. I'd have ordered something totally different.
I get home (i live a 5 minute drive from the place), mix the veggies with the rice and open the fish. I immediately notice how dry and un-flavorful the fish is. The rish and spicy basil dish wasn't spicy at all and the spicy basil was rather bland. Again the chicken spring rolls tasted dry and stale. Seems like they put very little filling in them.
I will never ever eat there again and if anyone my opinion of the place, I will be sure to mention how terrible the food is. The only good thing about the place is the ambiance and the lady waitress was very friendly. Other than that, stay away...
Read moreWe have been craving Thai Food, so we decided to try here since it had raving reviews. When we called, Ryan answered, who by the way, is AWESOME. He was well spoken, informative and didn’t rush you off the phone. He helped us choose dishes according to what we eat and also assisted us in choosing alternatives ingredients. Before we hung up, he told us it would be ready in 10 minutes, which was perfect for us, since we were 20 minutes away. We arrived, walked in, no one was there so I waited for about 3 minutes until a lady who works there saw me and came to the door where you have to wait to be seated. She asked my name and went inside to get my order. Ryan then came out, greeted me so pleasantly and told me my total. I paid, thanked him for being so kind and left.
Why I gave 2 stars is because my order was wrong. They put nuts in it which my fiancé is DEATHLY ALLERGIC TOO. So we had to toss the food out. They did refund us a portion of the bill for the items that had nuts but we weren’t going to risk it. Also, I wanted more sauce and they wanted to charge me $1 plus which I thought was greedy being that I just spent $70 plus. I would...
Read moreWhat? My reviews have 7,000 views! Here is another one. After returning from Thailand last month, I went to Rama Thai restaurant in Eggdi Harbor Township, New Jersey. Owner/maitre'd, in his great unique style, talked me through my order as descriptively as a Jack London novel. I could practically savour my order before it was prepared. Mitch also offered but did not push or pressure pairings and level of heat ("kick") The food and sauces were great as were attendance by Mitch and server Nok. I returned later with my family from Philadelpiha (an Asian restaurant strong hold). The huge menu offered diverse vegetarian selections for my daughter and great sauces and selections for my son in law. The Tiger Beef was so tender that my 11 month grandson ate a small plate of it. He can also eat a whole slice of pizza and he is thin/muscular. We greatly enjoyed desert and talking with Nok. I have eaten from the Friendship Arch (Arch and 10th) to about 4 blocks into Chinatown. Now I do not have to drive far or pay parking lot punishment, gas and a bridge toll....
