This place is unprofessional. It deserve zero stars. You have to call super early and call many times to get an answer from a provider. Sometimes you get good providers or bad providers, but in my case I got worst providers. I got bad workers through the phone and in the office during my second visit. New to medical, I had no idea how to use the insurance and I thought the case worker will guide me through it. That didn't happen, it wasn't till five months later I found a doctor for my pregnancy and then the unbelievable happen the DPSS terminated my case on the month I was suppose to deliver. On my second visit, I went to visit my case worker, but they send me to a provider that was not my case worker. The fact is she was confused why she had to handle my file if she only works the cases with Hispanics. The worker had no idea how to fix my case and she had to ask for help. Somehow, they fixed my case, but it did not stop there. I move to another location after my baby was born and I ask for a transfer. I swear it is like they did not want us to get insurance and EBT. When you call a provider through the phone to tell them you want to transfer, I suggest to get their name because the women did not change the location. As of today, I still haven't got a medical card for my baby that was supposed to be issued after birth, my EBT is still at this place, and even the supervisor won't even answer his phone calls. I'm just asking for this place to be more organize because the DMV is not worse than this and schools transfer things easier than this office. So here is my story. I have a relative who is currently a medicated schizophrenic. I went to social services with him to make an application for assistance and just to give him support in the task should he need it. Some of the staff is very professional while others need considerable training or replacement. In the last leg of our visit the last two interactions with staff were bad. My relative also has a speech impediment and sometimes finds it difficult to express himself. In trying to communicate his need he was interrupted by staff and repeatedly spoken over. The first person did not listen and every time my relative spoke, the staff member immediately started rapidly talking over him. I stepped in and told them both to be quiet and explained the information we were trying to communicate. We were told to go back to the basement and the staff member there did almost the exact same thing. My relative told them to please stop talking and listen because he has a mental health problem. Needless to say we gave up and left so that he would have an opportunity to calm down. If you have ever visited social services you may have noticed that some of the clients noticeably suffer from mental health issues. I would highly recommend that everyone there be given basic training regarding appropriate interaction with the public considering the fact that people with mental health issues or other atypical brain function may be easily triggered.
