This is not Tori Reisnour making the post. Not sure why this name has popped up, but if it's to deter my post, I can't. People should know.
The male nurse practitioner is more concerned with how his chart looks on paper than caring for the patient. He said "It's not going to look good on your chart if I give you an antibiotic when you tested positive for covid." I told him I've had covid 3 other times, and twice with pneumonia. I've been given an antibiotic each time I had covid. As for it not helping viruses, I understand that, however I had additional symptoms and existing sinus infection symptoms prior to my positive test. I showed him several pics of snot blown from my nose that was dark green with streaks of blood. I told him a could show him pics from a week ago with the same thing. He said, "I can't treat what you may already have, I have to treat your symptoms now." I replied, "this is from today." I told him my ears hurt too, and asked can you at least look in them? He wasn't even going to do that! He actually didn't look in my throat or nose. I'm a teacher and our school nurse even told me my throat looked really red and streaked just hours before I saw this male nurse practioner. They didn't even test me for strep or anything else. I drove 45 min for him to send me home with 0 prescriptions. By God's grace, I was able to get in touch with my normal Dr, and told them my experience at the after hours clinic. She prescribed Paxlovid to help with my current symptoms, as well as other meds to help better my symptoms until I can see her this week. I have gone to AFC before and had great experiences especially when having covid when they've even done a chest xray and found pneumonia. It's like the male nurse practitioner said it's "provider preference" as to a patient's treatment. " That's really...
Read moreI can’t write a review for all of their facilities but the one that I recently went to is a place I will never go again. I was out of town visiting in Virginia Beach, VA and I was fairly confident that I was experiencing a UTI. I wanted to try to attend to the problem sooner rather than later because in less than one month I have a scheduled surgery and did not want to be sick. The first issue began when the medical assistant came in the room to ask if I could do another urine sample because they had emptied out my initial sample and evidently did not realize it needed to be sent to a lab for additional culture test. I explained that there would be no way I have more urine to give but they finally agreed that. I could come back and drop off the second sample later in the day. Later in the day I did drop off that second sample and it was on a Friday afternoon before Memorial Day. Well actually I didn’t just drop it off; in fact the receptionist told me to have a seat in the waiting room and take my sample with me. She cared not about anything I had to say. Finally more than 30 min later one of the medical attendants from when I was there earlier in the day saw me sitting in the waiting room. She, thankfully, came to retrieve my urine sample that I brought in. 5 days later I received a phone call that the urine culture did show that I had a UTI. When I go to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription I find that the doc prescribed a 3 day course of meds. Like what? 5 days after the beginning of my symptoms, the doc prescribes meds for 3 days. Very likely I’ll be making another doctor visit for the same issue but somewhere else. So no, I won’t be back. And I’ll make sure to get this word out to those I know...
Read moreI took my 68yo dad for help with what we thought to be a broken rib but found out he has metastatic cancer in his ribs. He had a couple prescriptions called in and neither one helped relieve his pain at all. I called back and they called in something else and thank God my dad didn't take this medicine ( melixocam) side effects are nothing pretty to anyone who has had heart problems and my dad has had 2 or 3 heart attacks in the past also it causes liver and kidney damage plus possible stroke. Is the world really this heartless and uncaring for people in pain? I mean why is it so hard to put yourself in another person's situation and think how you would feel. I know a lot of people misuse medicine and get addicted to narcotics but when you know someone is in ACTUAL pain and not faking it for medicine why is it so hard to write something that actually works? It's not like you have to be a brilliant judge of character or figure out if a person is lying, the proof is in the pudding. If you have no compassion for another human being maybe you missed your calling when are people gonna realize helping others medically wasnt meant for just anyone. Also people like this are most of the cause of thousands of deaths of people that are in pain and can't get any medicine prescribed to ease that pain and they are forced to buy from the streets and are sold fentanyl unknowingly. They take something to help ease their pain and overdose from this ridiculous drug disguised as a common pain pill. Doctors and nurse practitioners are to blame for a lot of these deaths by judging people as pill seekers when not everyone is looking to get high but find relief from constant pain....
