My friends and I really liked our dinner at the Downtown Erie Chophouse, (Cheyenne Cattle Company Chophouse) at the Avalon Hotel. Believe me when I say I was super worried about going to dinner at the Avalon because that hotel has really been in disrepair for so long. The Chophouse (and the amazing tapas experience at Bolero, for that matter), however, is a great experience! The decor is super old-school but that was made up by the cuisine, which is an incredible A++. The traditional steakhouse menu is complimented by lots of forward-thinking dishes. I had a fantastic Ribeye, and my wife had a delicious petit filet. Sides were a la carte and made to share, just like the best steakhouses in the US. My only real complaint was the decor because there is a carpeted floor which dampens any volume, making the atmosphere much more muted than I would prefer.
