Goodwill Computer Store — Local services in Eugene

I've always been weary of making "bigger" or electronic purchases through secondhand places. But the gentlemen that work in the electronics dept are so very kind, helpful, and honest too!

I made the jump and got an HP laptop that has Linux Mint software installed on it. This was actually a laptop size and model I once really wanted, but at the time couldn't afford when it was "new". Having used Windows/Norton software all of my life (literally Lol) I wasn't sure what to expect with this difference. A tech came out, Tyler I believe was his name, and took the time to explain to me differences, perks, and overall expectations of the software and laptop. Honestly I'm absolutely in love with this laptop..AND the software!!! So far everything is functioning great, along with the charging and battery life holding up well. I can't express enough how beneficial this has been for me, both in finances and health, honestly! The display screen is shiny, clear and clean, it's going to help significantly with my eye strain in the long run. So, being self-employed/an independent contractor, ease of use and saving my eyes as much strain is absolutely a plus! Along with this software comes a BUNCH of System and Browser customizing I thought wasn't possible on a "goodwill laptop".

I feel very confident that if an issue does come up, these will be the guys to go to for help. Thank you all...

Really sucks I have to rate this place so low as a ton of my video game collection comes from here. In recent years this place has fallen to the price gouging practice of selling games. I get that prices have gone up significantly, but why would I pay ebay/local store prices at a goodwill? All they do here is make sure it turns on, and that's it. It can have disc rot, deep scratches, missing/broken pins, etc... and they'll sell it full price. If the game doesn't work they don't give refunds on games so you're out of luck. Only reason this review isn't 1 star is because you can still find some deals on common games, or if you're lucky the rare title can be discounted if it has the right...

Goodwill Computer store prices are truly a joke. I dont even know why I go there anymore. You can immediately tell that they are beyond greedy, cuz even a lot of the 1/2 off stuff doesn't sell anymore. For some strange reason, their monitor prices are especially embarrassing. $150 for a monitor that has probly been used 5+ years straight!? I just dont get it. I only go there when Im in a pinch and need something specific and time-sensitive. This store used to be fun... Not so much anymore. It now makes me cringe every...
