Do NOT consign your apparel here!!!! I stopped in to inquire about payment - and to check personally whether my pieces were sold or still on the floor. The owner rudely brushed me off with "she'll get to it when time permits." That was end of Sept., items were brought in in late June/early July. Just received (Oct. 6) a $26 UNITEMIZED check, so no accounting of what sold or for how much (note, minimum of 10 items required to consign.) But more importantly, she deducted an $8 CHECK FEE from the total!!!!! Lady, you haven't seen or heard the last from this PR pro, social media...

I love that all of the store's sales support our local domestic violence organization. It's definitely pricier than a lot of thrift/consignment shops, but your dollars are going to a great cause. Plus, you can find great scores: I just picked up a vintage, limited edition designer blouse with an incredible print for only $24. Last but not least, the volunteer staff is lovely...

The Crowded Closet is by far the best consignment shop in near the Chicagoland area. The merchandise is unique, classy,and the prices are reasonable when you look at the quality of the garments. I love shopping their and the staff are always thrilled to see their clients. The selections are fabulous....
