Dine in Dinner first visit.. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, Locally Owned Small Business.. HIDDEN GEM! party of 7 (5 adults,1 toddler & 1 infant).. Staff was very friendly & when asked questions about some of the menu items preparation due to dietary concerns of some of the party they happily went to ask the cooks to get the answers vs having a negative response to such questions. SUE is lovely, professional & cares about her job & it shows. The atmosphere is very welcoming & relaxed. The restaurant is very clean including the exposed duct work, lighting fixtures & decor in the dining room which are difficult areas to keep clean & you can tell that things like the menus & the cool wooden condiment caddies on each table are cleaned & stocked with rotated items daily. They look brand new. My only criticism is that it was difficult to hear due to the acoustics. The volume was low or off on the mounted Tv's & it was not busy but I had a hard time hearing the people I was eating with. Ok sooo. The menu.. the food totally exceeded my expectations. It has a wonderful mix of Midwest comfort foods like Pot Roast, Meatloaf, Fried Chicken, Chicken Fried Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak, Beef Liver with Bacon, & many more options along those lines PLUS they have several Greek dishes, Italian Dishes including Spaghetti & other pasta dishes, a Roast Pork with Sauerkraut w/ Dumpling so a little German cuisine, a Pork Chop they are proud of, Turkey & Dressing, seafood options, Entree Salads, Steak, Prime Rib & to my delight an absolutely lovely Chicken Wellington. My educated guess is that they even assemble these to order due to them having fresh tomato in them.. they tell you up front on the menu that it will take at least 25 minutes for this dish & two of us ordered it so we also ordered a couple of appetizers to munch on while we waited.. we got the Fried CHEESE CURDS which were crispy golden & delicious & a decent portion but they were also like $9.00 with I guess is about standard now.. we also got the CLEAVERS LOADED FRIES which were good & a huge portion. The BBQ was tasty but it could use more cheese. It was good yet honestly the sauce was a little runny & the BBQ while delicious kinda overpowered the cheese.. it kinda reminded me of a Poutine from Canada but I don't think that was what they were going for. Definitely need a fork & napkins when eating this one. With the runny sauce the potatoes got soggy. It came with a tasty Ranch for dipping as well. All of the portions were plentiful & I could only eat about half of my Wellington which I got with Fresh Asparagus & Roasted Potatoes. The Chicken in the Wellington was Juicy & tender, it also had loads of crisp Bacon, Swiss Cheese, Cream Cheese Fresh Tomato & was baked in a wonderfully thin yet flaky delicious golden crust.. Served with a light lemon cream sauce which I will ask for a little extra sauce on the side next time cause the Wellington is so big it didn't come with enough sauce but to give the Chef credit, if they put more sauce on the plate it would have looked messy & gotten my potatoes soggy & no body wants that. I didn't order any this trip but they also have a modest but decent selection of wines, beers & mimosa available along with Pepsi Products etc. The dessert options were minimal & seemed expensive.. plus we were all too full for dessert so we didn't order any this visit. So for what seems to be a fairly small menu they have a lot of variety ranging from classic Country/ Midwest Fare, selections from several diffrent cuisines & even dishes I would expect on a fancier menu.. something to make everyone in your party happy. I DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK & BRINGING MY FAMILY HERE. THIS IS OUR KIND OF PLACE, GOOD FOOD, GOOD ATMOSPHERE, GREAT QUALITY, GOOD VALUE & SUPPORTING A LOCAL FAMILY OWNED SMALL BUSINESS. YUMMMMM! 5M'S on...
Read moreI went here with my spouse and best friend. There were 3 of us. The couple in front of us in line left due to not being addressed and not seated promptly. There were several tables open. We were the only ones in line after this and it took a good 20 minutes before a host guided us to a table. No hello or anything. Ordered 3 waters with no lemon and a coffee. Coffee was cold. The other two ordered breakfast, which was also cold. I ordered the double cheeseburger and was served an undercooked double bacon cheeseburger and burnt french fries. The coleslaw was good I must say. It took approximately 25-30min for us to get our food after being seated. There were no refills on our drinks. The waiter was non-existent. We had to flag staff that wasn't even our waiter down to get our ticket. I hesitated to come back to this restaurant as my previous visit was a poor one with subpar food. I decided to give it another try and was disappointed yet again. I considered the prices to be high, the wait to be long for food/to be seated, undercooked food, and unfriendly or responsive staff. I will not be going back at this point. My burger, which I ordered well done, was completely pink and soggy on the inside. I didn't even want to bother with sending it back to the kitchen. I couldn't even find staff available to tell about it until the end of the meal. The establishment appeared clean but I did not go into the restroom. I will not patronize this establishment again considering this is the second time and even worse customer service than the time before. Be prepared for insufficient service, high prices, and for 3 people it costed around $55 and that was before the tip. I recommend skipping this place and enjoying a meal somewhere else. Limited wheelchair accessibility due to small spaces. As soon as you walk in the door you are confronted with a very large sign with the partial menu on it. Host staff walked around us numerous times without addressing us at the door before seating us. Disappointment is an...
Read moreIt was very weird. The swiss burger for instance should have a burger, swiss cheese, mushroom and onion. The burger they serve, according to the menu, burger, swiss, lettuce, tomato, pickle, mushroom, bacon, and onion. So you can't even call it a swiss burger. The burger wasn't seasoned at all. The rest of the food is golden corral style (bland and confusing menu combinations). The clientele is mainly people over 60 which isn't bad it just means that they cater to older folks and not young so people under 40 probably won't enjoy it so much. For example most restaurants play sport channels on their TV's but this place plays political channels like fox news and such.
On the plus side the staff is very nice, never had an empty glass so I was very happy about that. And the place was clean.
My personal opinion that cleavers is just for retirement aged people who have lost their sense of taste and who can spend $15 a person.
Just for management and owner. Make a menu that makes sense. Make a swiss burger that's actually a swiss burger. Cut your own fries and don't get them out of a bag, we can taste the difference. Don't put political news in a place that should be comforting to be in. And finally I appreciate that you give us such large portions, but quite honestly the swiss bacon burger is too big. You create a lot of wasted product by making such a large burger. You will actually make money by making it a bit smaller. For example you could. Make 2 regular sized burgers and sell them for the exact same amount. Actually doubling your profit and you won't have complaints about it being too large to fit in your mouth.
Your staff was amazing and your store looked great. But the menu could...
