I've been waiting for this particular restaurant to open for one a year. I'm a huge fan of Tonkotsu ramen with pork and ramen eggs, along with nigiri. Their broth is rich and creamy and if you get it to go they'll have it in a different cup to mix in your noodles when you arrive to you destination to keep your noodles firm. The nigiri was also wonderful. I was mostly impressed with the Ika, Hotatekai, and Toro; although the salmon, Tako, Unagi, and Sa-ke were delightful as well. I've spent a long time searching for the best ramen in Evansville and this place certainly has it. As far as a to go order goes (pictured with this review) they do a good job with presentation and the food being visually appealing. The ambiance of the restaurant was also very pleasant. I'm looking forward to trying many other dishes from Domo. They were well worth the wait.

I ordered my meal at the same time as my guest. We both got the same sushi roll, the Green River Roll (GRR), but he also ordered an additional Winter Roll. So in total, our order consisted of two GRRs and one Winter Roll. When the food arrived, my guest received both of his rolls first. I assumed mine would follow shortlyâbut it didnât. After waiting about seven minutes, our server, Richelle, came over and asked if everything was okay. We let her know we were still waiting on my order. She simply said, âOkay,â and walked away without making any effort to check on the status of my food. I figured my roll would be out any minute, so I continued to wait. Another five minutes passed, and Richelle returned to ask again if everything was okay. Once more, we told her we were still waiting on my order. Instead of addressing the issue, she just said, âOkay,â and walked away again. At no point did she go to the kitchen or offer any explanation for the delay, which only added to my frustration. Five more minutes went by, and a different server approached us, asking if everything was alright. We explained, yet again, that I was still waiting on my food. He nodded and mentioned that Richelle had come to him, saying she didnât understand what we were saying. That was both baffling and disappointing. While I understand that mistakes happen and always try to be respectful toward staff, her inability to acknowledge or resolve the issueâand then passing it off to another serverâfelt unprofessional and dismissive. I finally received my order at 6:27 PM. By then, I was so frustrated that I just asked for a to-go box so I could leave. When we got the bill, I checked the time stamp to make sure I wasnât overreacting. Our order had been placed at 5:58 PM. A nearly 30-minute wait for a simple sushi roll would be understandable on a busy weekend nightâbut on a quiet Tuesday with only three other occupied tables and multiple servers visible? There was no reason for this kind of delay. To make matters worse, by the time I finally got my roll, I had lost my appetite. And unfortunately, the food wasnât good enough to make up for the frustrating experience. Iâve dined here before and never had an issue, but after this experience, I doubt Iâll return. The lack of urgency, communication, and basic customer service made for a disappointing visit.

Food was excellent and good quality. Prices are about what you would expect. We shared a steak hibachi and two rolls and two waters. Total was 50.00. While the food was good, our service and atmosphere was not as great. The entire meal felt very rushed. We went on a Saturday night. We left Newburgh at 6 so probably got there 6:15ish. It was our first time so we needed a little to look at the menu. Once we ordered, they brought the soup/salad and not two minutes later, the sushi then the hibachi. We rushed through the soup/salad. One of the waitresses would come by and ask if I was done the minute I would take a bite and start taking the plate. At one point, I was reaching in the middle for a piece of sushi and she wanted the plate underneath me and I basically had to stop so she could take the plate. Even my husband thought it was rude and doesn't notice things like that. It may have been because it was a Saturday night and they were trying to move us quickly. The hibachi area did not look as rushed. We had paid and left by 6:40. For a Saturday date night without the kids, it was not relaxing at all. Everything felt sticky but I think it might just be the cleaner they use. Overall I would maybe order carry out or try at lunch to see if it's different since food was good.

My wife was going into surgery in a couple of days before we came in, and I wanted to take her to her favorite place to eat before she went on a liquid diet. We went in an hour before they close with our family of five, and I already felt guilty asking for hibachi because our little girls had never seen it. Our server was already beyond friendly and especially caring once I told her about my wife's oncoming health issues. The chef was also happy, humorous, and talkative. The guy was just who I wanted for my family to keep our spirits up. I even helped light the onion volcano, gave him my lighter, and felt part of the act. You couldn't put a price on the amount of fun my kids had and the smile on my wife's face when we got back home after the experience. 11/10 would recommend. :)

Visited with my husband for the first time and we both had a pleasant experience. The waitress (we overheard her say she was new) was super attentive and friendly. Often came by to check on our food, make friendly conversation, and never let our water go empty. The Chashu Ricebowl was delicious and pretty addicting. The way they grilled or seared the chashu gave it such a kick. The Tonkatsu Ramen's broth was super flavourful and delicious, however the noodles itself were bland.. even when slurped together with broth, it didn't soak up the broth. I wouldn't recommend the shrimp tempura as they were soggy and bland. Excited to come back and focus on their hibachi meals.

You will never find any better Sushi than that made at Domo Japanese Hibachi Grill, Sushi and Ramen. Seriously fresh and artistically presented by owner Marvin Abadicio and his staff. If you are a sushi aficionado or just curious about the cuisine, Marvin will either either succeed your expectations or educate you in what tastes to pursue. I personally recommend sushi omagashi (a Japanese phrase, meaning âIâll leave it up to you (the chef)â, but with three Hibachi grills, a Raman Bar, a Sushi Bar and of course table side dining, you canât go wrong for personal to family and group dining. You owe it to your senses to visit and enjoy!
