Vorhees/Evesham NJ outlet. I felt pressured the moment I walked in the door by a salesman who approached me at least 3 different times after having asked him to give me an opportunity to just look. He continued to pitch me even as I was clearly trying to physically walk away from him after trying to politely excuse myself several times. By the time I was ready to speak to the salesman he was apparently upset that I wanted to be left alone while initially browsing. And so, he was uncomfortably passive aggressive by being blunt and non participative with my questions. He would talk over my sentences, interrupting me, rather than listen to my actual question. He kept treating me like I had no idea what I was talking about. He finally understood, but only after our conversation had escalated to almost an argument. No apology from him, by the way. He also seemed frustrated, by huffing and puffing, that I asked for the quote and availability of 3 different bedroom sets. He acted as if he had time to discuss only one set. Later, the customer service (finance) rep gets involved in the dealing. This was to run the credit, set up delivery, print the invoice arm's contract, etc. She actually entered the entirely wrong furniture set once I did make my decision. The customer rep and the salesman both looked at me in silence and literally shrugged when I asked why the furniture was nearly $400 more than initially quoted. I had already included tax and delivery fees too. They waited for me to go back to the furniture area and remind them out of the 3 sets, which specific one that I had actually said I wanted, before it dawned on them that they had entered the wrong set. They just gazed at me when I asked why the price was so high. They were ready to order the wrong set and charge me $400 more than what I wanted to spend. Neither of them wanted to figure out why the price was wrong, So had they gotten their way, I would have gotten the wrong furniture and paid $400 more than I intended. Then the high pressure sales tactics came again at the end when they made me sign all of the paperwork for the furniture that I was considering. They even scheduled the delivery date, had me sign and initial all kinds of paper work, etc. before they turned to me to provide the loan approval status. They practically had me signed into the deal, asking me for my promise and commitment by signing what seemed to be an actual contract, before telling me if I was approved for any of their loan programs, or what the interest rate was, or how long the pay back was to be, etc. Of course they did remind me that I don't have to buy the furniture, but they make me go through everything first, as if I had actually already agreed upon the purchase. But they made it seem OK because they told me I could back out any time up to the delivery time. It felt like a high pressure sales tactic. I did not appreciate it. Otherwise the building was clean, the bathroom was clean, the furniture was decently priced, and most of it seemed solid. After leaving, I decided not to buy from there. I'm not returning. I'd like to be treated like a valued customer and...
Read moreI don’t know what it is about me that attracts horrific experiences at furniture stores- but this one has a direct reflection on Dennis as a sales guy. We spent an hour and a half there picking new furniture after a fiasco with Ashley. This one literally may have been worse.
We picked two sections (for upstairs and downstairs) and a recliner. We discussed at length what we needed and put together an order for two sectionals and a recliner.
We put our order on hold for a week because we were waiting for the refund check from Ashley. We put a deposit down and that was that. A few days later we paid and scheduled the delivery for Sunday.
Here we are on Sunday, the drivers get there- and we are missing an entire sectional. So we call- they have no record that we even ordered a sectional. I go through 6 people and they all say we didn’t order a sectional.
I go to the store and discuss this with Dennis. Apparently he completely forgot about our order and what we have discussed and runs to the back and fetches the manager. The manager said “well I don’t have any proof that you ordered anything more so all I can do is issue a refund.”
So instead of being a stand up sales person and understanding that I was angry because we had discussed the sectionals, the whole situation, even personal things like how our dog just died and how he’s been at this store for only a little while after moving around, I’m made out to be a psycho because I’m angry that I’m missing an entire sectional and that this was the SECOND time not getting anywhere with furniture companies.
Plus! Dennis hid in the office the entire time after he saw that he couldn’t make me cheer up after discussing the fact that I was missing an entire sectional that was ordered- but apparently not ordered.
I also told them, I’m also in management and sales. I understand customer service and conflict management- this was not the way to handle any of this. Poor attitude. Don’t buy there, let alone...
Read moreI've had enough. I've been patiently waiting for my sectional sofa that I ordered way back on August 2nd. I I completely understand that covid has messed up a lot of orders and I'm fine with that but the fact that I keep getting told a delivery date that my furniture will be in keeps getting delayed over and over and I'm fed up. I was told beginning of September that my furniture would be arriving at the warehouse early October and that date came and went and then told my special order furniture would be sent to the warehouse October 26th. I received a phone call Saturday morning saying that my furniture was in the system for this Sunday and they would schedule a delivery date this week and that somebody would call me Sunday night and schedule a delivery date for this week. Sunday came and went no phone call. I called this morning spoke to salesman and salesman told me not to worry everything's in the system and they will call me by the end of the day with a delivery date for this week. Just got off the phone with the manager and now they are saying that my order was delayed and it won't be received at the warehouse until this Thursday and then they can't deliver it for two more weeks. This is completely unacceptable I have a pregnant fiance with twins and we have no furniture. I paid for this in full almost three months ago and still have not received what I paid for. And the fact that they keep giving me the runaround is so frustrating. Unfortunately I will never recommend anyone for this company ever again. They should have came out and told me in the beginning that this could take 3 to 4 months. So here we are now in the beginning of the holiday season and my family room still has no furniture unacceptable. So if there's anyone out there looking to purchase furniture you better make sure you speak to your salesman up front and find out the wait time so you don't find yourself in a situation like mine....
