I had a great experience last week, which was mostly due to Sandy, a sales associate there. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and the store was bustling with customers. Even so, I was immediately greeted and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I was looking for a dress for an outdoor venue wedding. I wasn't overly hopeful, because I had already struck out at a few other stores that afternoon. Sandy asked me a few questions to help me narrow my focus and within two minutes already four dresses for me to try. A few of them I initially refused, because I didn't think they would flatter me. Sandy convinced me otherwise and soon I was in the dressing room with multiple options. I'm typically a private person, but there was a true sense of supportive sisterhood in the common area of the dressing room that day from the other associates and customers. We were all giving each other opinions and support. I left the store that day with multiple options for that wedding, a future wedding and work. I also bought a pair of shoes, that Sandy had pulled for me to wear, while trying on the dresses and jewelry to complement the wedding guest dresses. Walked into the WHBM store at the Promenade at about 5:40 this evening and instead of being created with, “Hello, welcome - can we help you with anything,” we were greeted with, “if you are planning on trying anything on, better hurry up and be quick, yes hurry up, because we close in 20 minutes.” Don’t think I will ever visit this particular WHBM again. I recently moved here from Indiana and I frequented my local WHBM and never heard that team make any customer feel unwelcome.
