Clyde's Cupcakes — Local services in Exeter

Stopped by on Saturday to check this place out and picked up 6 cupcakes to take home to my family. We had them only a few hours after I purchased them and they were literally inedible. I’m not even over reacting. They were unbearably dry and hard. I honestly told my niece so stop eating it because I was worried it was over a week old. Extremely disappointing to have spent $18 on 6 cupcakes that were not even edible. This place is obviously more of a made to order bakery but if you plan to have some cupcakes ready on hand for people to stop by you should probably make sure they are good. My mother had asked for a booking for a cake and got a VERY rude email back from the owner. It was very unprofessional how he put things and acted like we knew everything about his cake decorator. Apparently, the cake decorator lost their home at Sunview and it’s almost like the owner used that against my mother. Our family actually fought in that fire and we have plans to donate gift cards to those who lost their homes. We bought from here once, and don’t plan on doing so ever again. I wanted to order cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday party, I drove to their location on Wednesday but they were closed. They later called me the next day and I explained to them that I needed 2 dozen of cupcakes by Friday June 1st which was my daughters birthday. They informed me that it’s too late to place a special order but I can choose from what they had which I did and we agreed on 10am that Friday. I drove from Greenland to the store to find that it was CLOSED! I almost lost it. Stayed there for 20mins nobody showed up, All the calls where going to voicemails.
