I purchased a Christmas gift From this merchant from my wife. It was a pair of matching sweatshirt and sweatpants. My wife Said that they felt like cardboard, and asked me to return them for a store credit so she could get something else. The sales rep, on January 9, refused to accept them for store credit, saying that the deadline to return them was July 5 and it was clearly stated on the receipt. Now I’ll admit, I don’t really read define printing receipts, because most of the merchants I do business with like to keep me as a customer. Despite the fact that we’ve done business here before, and their sister stores, and we were only four days past the deadline, I did not understand them being unwavering. They offered me to exchange it for a different color or a different size, but that would not solve the issue of them feeling like cardboard.
I try really hard to shop local, but this is a merchant I will not be shopping with again. I strongly recommend people consider relationships with their merchants and make decisions based on the relationship, not on a sales receipt. This seems like such a foolish decision on their behalf, but I guess it’s understandable given the fact that they mentioned they weren’t going to be in business much longer because they weren’t getting a lot of sales., I wonder why?
I’m updating this based on the merchants response. What a bunch of guff! I did not raise my voice, I responded with incredulity that they would be so slavish to a policy that they’re willing to lose a customer that has done business with them. Offering to exchange my return for the exact same product Is hardly a reasonable offer when I tell you the product is unacceptably rough for loungewear. And, as you can see by me posting this, I did not threaten a poor review, I promised a poor review. Telling lies about your customers is not the same thing as providing good service. I stand by my recommendation of shopping elsewhere, show merchants what you think of them with your money. Support honest merchants with better policies who are not solely focused on policies and profits! If you’re reading this review and thinking of purchasing anything here, ask yourself if your best shopping experiences involve smug, self-righteous sales staff saying “the policy...
