Had a terrible experience when returning a suit with all the tags (detached). There was zero positive intent from the sales associate's colleague (Manny) who kept interjecting with comments stating the items were worn and further continued to stated that all tags must be attached otherwise non-returnable. Once the manager arrived to support, she to asked me questions. Once again Manny interrupted by saying "the item was worn" when the sales associate I was working with was trying to explain to the manager that I was there to exchange the suit for another better fitted suit. I politely explained that the items were worn for fit and comfort (e.g walking and sitting). Continued to get push back even though I was in the return period looking to exchange. Manny then accused me by stating my husband wore the items to an event. Apparently he's with us at all times...he even had the audacity to snicker while Lata the manager was holding him back. I asked the manager show me where it stated on the receipt that the tags must be attached otherwise the refund is forfeited per Manny? She couldn't find it and showed me a section of the receipt that referred to women's dresses. I asked again if it's listed online since I have never ever heard of this policy. She said that's it's possible she doesn't know. At the end, she went ahead and made an "exception" to exchange the suit. I have no problem when employees are doing their due diligence but to be treated as if I'm trying to steal money from the company and take advantage of the return policy is disgusting. I was uncomfortable having to defend myself with an associate that had no place make any comments. He needs a refresher on outstanding customer service and addressing customers with positive intent. Definitely not purchasing a suit for my husband at this location. Don't want to risk my reputation. All of the above was carefully written as I sat in the car after my terrible experience. Not a single thing...
Read moreA sofa I purchased for my husband’s memory care suite, the delivery person came with no one to help him, and did not deliver the sofa. He lied and told Macy’s that there was no one there to receive the delivery. Yet, I was on the phone with him and the Director of the facility to meet each other and deliver the sofa. But the facility’s Staff was busy and could not help him at that moment, so he left with the sofa. But Macy’s considered it delivered, and charged my card. I can only get to the Philippines when I call the local number, and so far the charge has not been removed after multiple calls and it’s been since the false January 24th failed delivery. The Philippines also told me things like we can’t find it in a warehouse, it will be delivered in 45 days, you can’t cancel it for 72 hours. All just nuts. I have called multiple times to cancel. I went to the store and spoke with the furniture manager and sales rep, and no one there can help me. What I found out is that the furniture part of Macy’s is not Macy’s. I’ve been a customer since the late 1980s, and I also realize that using their credit card gives me zero leverage when they screw up. I’d advise you to not buy furniture from Macy’s and I advise you to no longer use their credit card. I think the APR if you’re late is 26%. I have no problem paying any and all credit cards on time, and I do 99.99% of the time. Thats a fact. But if you’re late, just a couple of days for an unusual reason, such as illness, they will call you on a Sunday morning to harass you. No wonder their stock is in the toilet. Oh, yes, I don’t do reviews. But this has been too much and has been during a time of immense...
