Wal Mart is trying to covertly and underhandedly replace as many employees as it can with machines, all in the name of so-called customer efficiency. Wal Mart has been reducing the cashier-manned lanes in favor of self-checkout for well over a year now. The only thing that this does it steal much-needed jobs from actual people and Wal Mart stays wealthy by deceiving people into performing free labor. Customers are manipulated into doing the work of a now unemployed cashier, supposedly to save their time when in reality the only thing that is saved is Wal Mart's bottom line. I believe that it should be every customer's choice whether to utilize the self-checkout lane and not be forced or goaded to because they don't have the time to wait. If a customer prefers it that's great but it is altogether heinous for Wal Mart to "coerce" and trick customers into using the self-checkout lanes by having only one cashier lane open. I have seen this happen morning, noon, and night. Instead of assigning the employee to open a cashier lane, they assign them to stand there and direct customers to the self-checkout lanes. Wal Mart does this even during busy holiday times. I used to spend thousands in Wal Mart with four children's birthdays and holidays, but after I saw their underhanded, greedy, and despicable behavior, I only enter the store for an item that I desperately need. I gladly pay $20 more elsewhere rather than be complicit to their inconsiderate and uncaring treatment of employees and customers. There used to be at least 4-5 cashier lanes open, now there is one, with at least 8 self-checkout lanes. They work that one poor cashier to death trying to avoid paying 4 more. Most times at night there isn't even one cashier. The really large and lazy manager Hunter refuses to walk a foot to man a register or assign a cashier to a register even though there is a long line and no cashier lanes are open. They really expect people to ring out a whole basket of items on a little self-checkout area. After Hunter so arrogantly refused to assign one cashier to a register, I left my cart and reported this to Walmart.com. They didn't even bother to call back or act as if it was a problem to them. Well I guess it isn't to them when their eyes see only dollar signs rather than people. I really hope that people see that if they follow Wal Mart's directive and use these lanes, they are only hurting deserving people and the economy. The poor will get poorer and Wal Mart will get richer. I boycott them 99.5% of the time and NEVER use the self-checkout lanes. Today, as you can see in the picture, so did at least 12 customers waiting in a line that extended nearly to electronics. Only one chose to use self checkout, which was his right, but a big thank you to all the rest who waited that extra 10 minutes and stood up for the rights of employees. Wal Mart…we see you for what...
Read moreWalmart, the largest chain of superstores in America, has consistently provided a convenient and diverse shopping experience. With its vast range of products, from groceries to electronics, and affordable prices, it's no wonder Walmart remains a go-to destination for many.
One of the standout features is the store's accessibility. With numerous locations nationwide, it's easy to find a Walmart nearby. The spacious layout and well-organized aisles contribute to a hassle-free shopping experience, allowing customers to navigate effortlessly and locate items with ease.
Walmart's commitment to competitive pricing is evident throughout the store. The "Everyday Low Prices" philosophy ensures that shoppers can find budget-friendly options without sacrificing quality. This affordability is particularly appreciated in the grocery section, where a wide selection of fresh produce, pantry staples, and household items cater to various needs.
The convenience extends beyond just products. Walmart's efficient checkout process, including self-checkout options, helps streamline the overall shopping experience. Additionally, the incorporation of technology, such as the Walmart app for easy browsing and online ordering, adds a modern touch to traditional retail.
However, while the variety and affordability are commendable, there's room for improvement in the customer service department. Although associates are generally helpful, occasional understaffing during peak hours can lead to longer wait times at checkout or for assistance. Improving staff availability during busy periods would enhance the overall customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, Walmart earns a solid four-star rating for its expansive selection, competitive pricing, and convenience. Despite minor concerns with customer service, the overall shopping experience at Walmart is reliable and caters to the diverse needs of its broad...
Read moreAfter today, I will no longer be a loyal customer of Walmart. My daughter and myself went to Walmart so she can pick outfit for picture day about an hour and a half, and she finally picked the outfit that she really wanted and loved. We got to check out not realizing this particular Walmart didn’t take Apple Pay or tap to pay, then move over to customer service for help downloading and setting up my Walmart to pay app, I spent about an hour sitting there trying to load my card, got my card into the Walmart app scan the barcode. It said a denied my card and I had over $100 in that account so I tried a different account added to the Walmart app and scan the barcode again after she had to re-put in the whole order bless herself because she was so patient but did not work again and that account had plenty of money to pay for the for my daughter clothing. Although the lady was very sweet, I was extremely upset and disappointed that I had to bring my four-year-old daughter out of the store, bowling and crying because she wasn’t able to get her outfit, but she spent over an hour picking out this completely blew my mind and I will never be returning to Walmart to grocery shop or clothing or anything anymore. They have completely lost my loyalty. I have spent and tried two different on my credit cards and spent well over an hour trying to get it and it’s still never worked and I had to break my child’s heart and bring screaming crying. Child heartbroken all the way home crying and she cried herself to sleep. Thumbs up Walmart really sticking...
