I can't even begin to express how frustrated my husband and I are with Milgard! We recently purchased a home in a new development where the builder used Milgard Windows, and the experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Several of our casement-style windows--those that hinge on the side and open outward--have issues, with some sticking when trying to lock or unlock them.
One of the crank handles and locking mechanisms broke while attempting to open a window, so we called for service back in October 2024. When the Milgard technician came to fix it, he ended up cracking the glass--an issue that should have been resolved quickly. Instead, it was just the beginning of a long and frustrating ordeal. Since then, Milgard has canceled on us twice, delivered the wrong window paneling twice, and today, April 2, 2025, they called yet again to say the replacement panel wasn't painted and had to be reordered. Seriously?!
Now, we're pushed back another month, and for over five months, we've had to deal with a cracked window letting in cold air. Trying to reach a manager at Milgard is nearly impossible, and they never return calls. I can guarantee that the Owner, CEO, or any upper management at Milgard has no clue--or worse, doesn't care--about the frustration their customers endure.
At this point, we're at our wits' end. Our next step is to contact On Your Side (a television news investigative team) to expose both Milgard's faulty products and their horrendous customer service. Maybe public pressure will finally get them to fix our window--and help other customers dealing with the same incompetence. How can a company that's been in business since 1958 be this incapable of getting a simple window order right? This is absolutely...
Read moreOur house remodel started back in Sept of 2017. Our contractor ordered windows from Milgard through Home Depot and told us this was the longest lead time item for the house since they were custom sized windows and they were being shipped from the mainland to our house in Hawaii. The windows took a little longer than the expected 6 weeks and were installed with no problem. When we moved in around Thanksgiving, we noticed one of the windows was cracked at the bottom and Milgard was prompt in filing our claim to replace the window and putting us in contact with the rep who would help replace it. We then had to wait again for the replacement panel to show up in December, and when it did, it was the wrong size/for the wrong window. It had to be reordered, and we waited again until Jan. Come Jan, the Milgard rep couldnt' find the window which was supposedly delivered and missed our Jan appt. Feb came around and this time it was my fault for having a conflicting schedule and i had to cancel our appointment. We finally got the window replaced last week. It works great and we're happy that it's finally fixed. It was a lot of playing tag and waiting game to get the window but aside from that the reps/employees and product is good quality. If we could have saved all the time going back and forth and waiting for the right window i would give them...
Read moreInstallers did a wonderful job swapping out the failed window pane. And in pouring down rain. We actually hadn't expected them to be replacing the glass when they showed up we figured this was just a site visit to inspect the failed window pane. But we were certainly pleasantly surprised. Only thing though is the new window pane has two blemishes on the inside of the window. Looks like some buffing out in the factory didn't quite get finished. So we will need to reach back out to them about this. Otherwise very happy with our windows and the warranty!!
Addendum May 20th. 2018 Milgard responded almost immediately to our small issue with two imperfections in the window. There was no hassle about it, just a simple "we will replace it for you." Month or so later and they did. The installers took a quick moment to see what I was referring to and then went right to work. Milgard is the third window company I have worked with between owning homes here in Bellevue, WA and in Michigan. Milgard consistently is the superior company they market themselves to be. The hassles and hoops I had to deal with in Michigan to get warranty issues covered assured those companies that I would neither use nor recommend them to anyone. I always refer to Milgard for quality windows if someone brings up the topic. Thoroughly impressed with...
