This is going to be a long post. Short version is that I am out $900 because of CPR Repair. Took my phone in to get my cracked screen replaced. Phone was functional, but I wanted the cracks gone. The employee was nice and professional. I was told she would be able to make the repair within the work day, it took them multiple days to make the repair. They were busy, I get it, no big deal. This is not the worst part. I go to pick up my phone and the employee hands it to me with the home screen on. After I paid, I notice that my screen was not responding to touch. Completely frozen. Had to wait another day for them to figure out the problem. I go back and talk to the manager who said there was internal damage in the phone that they "discovered" during the screen repair. He said it would take a lot of time and money to fix this damage and I would be better off buying another phone. So they've left me with a broken phone and still made me pay $60 for the UNUSABLE screen. Then I went and paid $850 to replace my phone at another store.
The absolute bare minimum they could have done would be to fully refund me the money for both labor and parts. The way I see it, I had a working phone before I went to CPR, and it was handed back to me broken and they should be responsible. Not only this, but the employee attempted to hand me back my phone that I have to assume she knew was not working. Read moreExtremely disappointed in the service I received. $150 later and I still have a cracks in my screen. Manager and employees are all on different pages and very unorganized. I brought my iPad in for a cracked screen. After being told multiple dates of when it would be fixed I asked if I could just pick it up and get my money back since they charge prior to completing the repair. I was told the manager wouldn’t be in until the next day and the next day I received an email saying it was fixed. I go in to pick it up and the manager explains to me that there was additional damage done under the glass so there are still scratches in the screen. I asked why wouldn’t they call me to tell me this if it was something else that was another cost and I was told “well you were trying to get a refund so I figured you wouldn’t pay for it”. I had done my own device repairs in the past, but with the cost of my devices, and the intricacies of these newer models, I have lost the nerve to do it myself. The last two phones I had broken, I had owned for long enough to justify just replacing them. This time, my phone was new enough that I couldn't bring myself to spend that much again so soon.
I paid out of pocket to have a new, SAMSUNG screen installed, which carries a warranty. I am extremely pleased with the results of this repair, and I am not exaggerating when I say that this phone is as good as new.
