i really wanted to like this place, but what a disappointment. i started with the toasted yolk coffee. i was bummed to find out when this $11 drink was delivered that it was not topped with real whipped cream (as the menu implies), and i was left with a layer of oily sludge floating on top of my drink, which i had to fish out with my spoon. i was excited about the shrimp and grits, but again was grossed out as soon as i saw my plate. not only did it look like there was no expo to send out clean looking plates, but there was a layer of oil in the shrimp topping. despite all of the ingredients in the dish there was very little flavor, just an overwhelming texture of grease. service was mediocre at best. the other three people at my table had to specify which side and type of toast they wanted, even though the waitress did not think to ask. then, after they specified they wanted sourdough, their plates were delivered with white bread. this was after waiting at least 30 minutes for our food to be delivered. server did not ask about refills or inquire how our meals were. overall it seemed like she didn't even want to be there, let alone care enough to provide excellent service. one person at our party felt sick to her stomach and had to go to the bathroom immediately after eating. and i am not looking forward to what happens when all of that grease reaches my intestines. 🤢 overall the place just seems like a novelty and overpriced for what we actually received. 👎

Initially, our server Emily provided outstanding service, demonstrating attentiveness and a thorough understanding of the menu, which was particularly appreciated given our first-time visit. Unfortunately, the experience deteriorated when General Manager Rick was asked by our server to display a pink coffee mug. He proceeded to publicly rebuke our server at our table for supposedly "yelling across the bar," despite this not being the case, and appeared visibly agitated at being asked to perform a task while dining at the bar. I found this behavior to be highly off-putting and disheartening for our server. It is essential that management personnel refrain from reprimanding employees in front of customers at the table, especially when unwarranted. I hope that Rick will take this review seriously and acknowledge the impact of his actions on staff and patrons. In terms of the food, I would describe it as good but not exceptionally flavorful. As a group, we would only consider returning as a last resort, given the high prices relative to the quality of the food. Lastly in the women’s room, there is no latch on the door for safety and multiple patrons had to procure toilet paper from other stalls as it was empty.

We’re not from the area and needed a place to grab a quick bite. Being that it was Mother’s Day, we knew it may be difficult to find someplace. We’re so glad we went ahead and tried the Toasted Yolk! The food was great! Really nice atmosphere too. The gal at the bar took awesome care of us as well. We were super pleased with everything. The shrimp and grits were outstanding! My husband and I both got eggs Benedict (“Arnold’s”). They were very good as well. Unfortunately, because of the busyness, the eggs were over done, but that was remedied immediately. They graciously brought us perfectly cooked eggs in just a couple moments. Great experience! I wish we lived closer because we would definitely make this place a regular on our list.

I went for lunch a couple of days ago. We were seated and waited 30 mins before anyone showed up to ask us for drinks. While watching other people being seated and food coming before we were even acknowledged. Once someone did, they took our drink order, but we had to wait 20 more minutes before our order was taken. We ordered an appetizer, but that came out with the food. She did apologize for the long wait for being short staffed, so there is that. However, although I have been here before and liked the food so I decided to come back. This time, I ordered the tacos. Two small tacos with a small side of grits for nearly $20 bucks. I don't mind the price, but the soft tacos were saturated in grease. Like dripping down your forearms grease. When it was time to go, we assumed we had to pay at the cash register as the waiter handed the bill and walked away and never returned. So we got up to pay, and the host said no, you have to go back to your table and wait for your server.. if I hear WAIT one more time. Lol I'm not hard to please when it comes to food, I don't complain about long waits normally because I'm human, and I understand life happens. This wasn't a ride I wanted to be on, and I most likely won't come back for a...
