I’ve “sold” to platoes for the last time. I run a reselling business of my own and when I have too much inventory I’ll take some to platoes. I’m very picky on the pieces I pick up to sell, I check date tags, flaws, you name it. I took two totes in and 33 mins later (keep in mind there were others in front of me) they were done. Supposedly all of my items were”old, worn, past the date they accept” or “had a smell”, the smell was of the laundry soap used before I brought them in. I had multiple NWT items, the other items that were not NWT were not damaged in anyway. Once again I’m very picky with the pieces I pick up, I’m not going to waste my time or money on a piece I cannot flip. They didn’t even take one item. I was honestly in disbelief, I just received an email 2 days before of the items they were looking for, I ONLY brought in items they were looking to buy. I’m sick of the lies from minimum wage employees that do not care about doing there jobs correctly. They have such a “better than you” attitude. I mean you work in a clothing reselling store in Findlay, Ohio not Louis Vuitton in NYC. I’ve looked through the racks on many many occasions, all different seasons, for probably the last 4 or 5 years. The stuff that is allowed out on the sales floor is not up to their own specifications, it’s stained, or has holes. The shoes in particular are nasty a lot of the times. I’ve only bought items from there on clearance, because the prices are crazy high. I wish Findlay had a good reputable reselling/consignment store that treated their...
Read moreThis place is a complete joke. I don't take stuff here often because of it. But when I do I spend a lot of time making sure everything is in great condition , in season and in style because I know they're very picky. I got two nicely folded hampers with some lucky brand , lulu, buckle , patagonia and north face stuff (among some other bread and butter brands) for my husband to bring in. Because I don't like the environment in there - because they're usually rude. It's our teen daughters and sons clothes and the money would go towards their new clothes. They didn't take or even look through our things because they said it had a "smell" to it. Which there wasn't, they are washed and cleaned. The clerk even said that she could tell. They were put in new hampers .. which could be what they "smell" idk. But our stuff sat there for 6 hours without a text. We called and they said they had the area code down wrong. Which is false because we had previously gotten texts. So I am not sure what happened. There was someone in there taking social media pictures of the clothes on the floor , even stepping on them to get around it. Lol. Needless to say we're not shopping here nor brining stuff again. It's a...
Read moreOriginally I had given Plato’s Closet in Findlay a five star review, but that has recently changed due to the awfully rude customer service I received from the acting manager during my last shopping experience there.
I stopped in just to grab a couple Cleveland Indian shirts. I tried them on and went to cash out. The manager (lady with short multicolored hair) was extremely rude during our transaction. I have absolutely no reason why she was so aggressive, I didn’t even react to her behavior. She threw my credit card down on my clothes and raised her voice at me when I was trying to find a coupon on my phone. Her attitude was worst than my 4 year after missing a nap. I have spent a lot of money here since it first opened in Findlay and in no way deserved this behavior. It was by far the worst customer service I have received in my entire life. I have been in the service industry for 10 years and know for certain that her lack of respect and attitude towards customers is NO WAY to run an establishment successfully. I will never return to this location again to spend my hard...
