On July 28 2021, I went to Ace Hardware to fill my propane on my motorhome. My tank was 3/4 full as I was getting ready to take a long road trip and needed it topped off. As I spoke to one of the sales reps. He explained I had a 40 gallon tank and they will have to charge me 40 gallons worth of propane regardless that they are not filling the tank with 40 gallons of propane. At this point I was confused and asked the sales clerk to explain. The sales clerk explained, that this was ACE Hardware policy to charge individuals the size of a tank not what they actually put in to the tank. I explained to the individual that I have always filled my propane at Ace hardware and have never been told this before. So I asked the individual if I would have to pay $50 to fill only a quarter of my tank when he replied yes. I asked for a manager when he explained the manager over his headset so this has been ACE HardwareS policy for many years. I looked at the individual and explained ACE Hardware lost a customer. After reviewing my receipts from refilling my propane at Ace Hardware, I found that each time they charge me only what they put in my tank. Come to find out Ace Hardware is the only place that will charge you the size of your tank not actually what they put in. If you need propane go to Napa at Highway 52 at Frederick way. They filled my tank that same day and charged me $12.72. I am sure glad I did not pay the $50 in which Ace Hardware was about...

UPDATE from original post: Not sure what is happening in customer service these days but purchased a Gorilla cart from Ace and immediately had a problem with it. The person that answered the phone said I didn't deal with that let me get you a manager. The manager was not able to take our call immediately and would call back. The manager did call back and was extremely rude to my husband and was almost belligerent. I can't recall his name but believe it started with a J. In my past experiences at this location we have had nothing but pleasant interactions but when we called about this particular item we ordered and had Ace assemble they wanted nothing to do with it and referred us to the manufacturer. Keep in mind this is within 10 days of the purchase. We reached out to the manufacturer who mentioned we should take back to Ace, however, we told them Ace was not willing to help. After a few emails and correspondence with Gorilla, they took care of us but Ace why sell products if you aren't willing to assist customers with issues? So i went back and grabbed the drawer with another box still in it and it came up more. When he tried to get a manager the manager just ignored him so he said well i guess you have to pay what i said and not what the tag says. This item was not on sale. It's part of the nuts and bolts department organized system. The sales rep and store manager can try to fool someone else. Pay attention people bait and switch is a real thing and it is illegal. Poor customer service should be as well. Now i get to drive way out of my may wnd late for my job. Yes i would rather be late than patronize a business that will tell you to your face your wrong and pay us more than we advertise.
Update. The 100ct box of screws they advertise on the shelf tag for 14.99 and charge 15.99 at the register for. Is 14.57 at the other depot and its a 170ct box.
