One of the worst and most stressful experiences I've had purchasing a new phone. This is also the first time I've ever written a google review, but felt it necessary to warn others to AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. In summary, employees here work on commission (even for purchasing phone cases, etc. according to the salesperson today), so they may be inclined to upsell you on service plans/purchases (they got me!), and if an employee lies to you (which happened to me resulting in me paying an extra $400.00- which is NOT a minimal amount!), there is little done by the manager to correct the error and financial loss (i.e. not a good sense of customer service). Also, this store will charge you an additional mandatory $60.00 service fee which includes them "setting up" your new phone (FYI "setting up" a new phone is actually free at a true Verizon store, and honestly easy enough to just do on your own- just a few clicks! And apparently TCC stores are to be avoided in general, which I just learned!).
Additionally, according to the manager today, the $60.00 service /phone set up fee AT THIS STORE ONLY is mandatory even if you decline having the store set up your new device for you. So you would pay them $60.00 even if they don't do anything for you, no other place does this, and when I told a Verizon customer service rep on the phone about this charge she laughed out loud in disbelief at the $60.00 fee!! I'd recommend ordering from Verizon directly, going to the ACTUAL Verizon store in Flagstaff on Route 66, or ordering from iPhone/Android store, etc. all of which are free (no service fees).
Lastly, the two sales employees I worked with were easily aggravated and became unprofessional if they received multiple inquiries or if they became confused. Overall, disappointed, wasted MANY hours of my time, frustrated my co-plan members (who agreed to upgrade ONLY due to the promises which were lies), etc. I also spoke to my coworker who went there yesterday and had a bad experience as well! Avoid,...
Read moreI had an unprofessional experience changing to an unlimited Verizon plan at this location with Kian for multiple reasons. On my first visit, he seemed more concerned with selling me new iPhones than helping me change our plan. Despite repeatedly expressing that we were not planning to update our phones he kept trying to upsell me providing reasons why I should. He quoted me various rates showing that they would be the same or lower than our present plan. On my second visit, he was unable to process the switch because their internet was down. While this may not be his fault, it was a scheduled appointment and he could have easily called to cancel but he knew he was transferring stores and obviously wanted to make an additional transaction before he left. When I returned the next day, I found out that the rates he had quoted me were based on setting up autopay which we do not use so they would be $30 more expensive per month. I asked him to work up the new quote based on our present situation and he pushed me to choose a more expensive plan that would be “$10 more per month” because it included discounts on streaming services. He declined to be transparent until after the switch was official that the higher plan would actually be $30 more expensive per month because it was $10 “per line”. When I contacted him about this he become very defensive, interrupting me and said that he told me this three times. I don’t believe he made this clear at all but had he said it three times I surely would have caught that “detail”. Finally, when I received an email about what my bill will be it was an additional $30 per month yet (so $60 more than the original quote) because the rates were based on using autopay even though I told him we do not use this. Very disappointed with this experience and if we had any other options for quality service in Flagstaff I certainly would not use Verizon any longer. This was not the first frustrating experience I have had with...
Read moreI upgraded to a new phone in mid-March. The overall process was quick and went smoothly with one issue. I was informed the activation fee would be $60. As this was higher than I have experienced in the past, I questioned the amount and was informed it was really a $30 activation fee and a "TCC-required" policy for $30 phone protection. I was informed this was a one-time charge to circumvent returning the phone in the event of damages within the first month of use.
My receipt showed the protection policy was for a 2-year (renewing) membership to a water protection plan that I did not require nor want. When I asked the associate to refund the money, he refused and explained that was the true intent of the protection plan in addition to covering his commission. When asked why those weren't fully explained, he said it was TCC policy. When pressed to remove it, he called his manager for a system override, but the manager also refused due to "policy."
Calls and emails to TCC have gone unanswered to correct this issue nor was the manager available in the store to discuss when I confirmed his hours with an associate (still following up). If this was TCC policy, the associate should have correctly explained. If this protection plan policy also covers their commission, then why the secrecy until pressed? If it was truly for commission, the associate should have said so and I would have worked with him and his manager.
I express caution to verify your receipts against what was stated to avoid consumer fraud. I simply dislike...
