We've been living at Woodlands for about 2 years now, and we're pretty happy with our stay here.
The office and maintenance staff are really friendly and very responsive. Whenever we put in a maintenance request the guys are usually over to fix it in a couple of hours. They often have free pretzels/popcorn/candy out in the office building, which is pretty fun. The fitness room is great, too. Lots of machines and it's well taken care of.
A lot of college students live here (surprise!), which means that there's the inevitable party or loud night at some of the apartments. Our neighbors don't party much, but part of that depends on the luck of the draw. I've never seen people be really loud except on Fri-Sun nights, though.
Laundry is a bit of a pain, since the only laundry machines are in the main office. The office is centrally located, but we're still pretty far from the office, making for a long walk (I often just drive), especially if there's snow on the ground. If you're close to the office, though, it's pretty nice.
One last con, but for the 2 bed/2 bath setup, the kitchen cabinets are a little inconvenient. The kitchen has a counter and set of cabinets that divide it from the living area, but the upper cabinets are set back so that they're hard to reach. I can see why they did this, but it makes using those cabinets fairly tricky for me (5'2").
The bottom line: We're quite happy here. It's really nice to have have such friendly office and maintenance staff. We don't have any significant noise problems (but this may be different depending on your neighbors). Laundry not being in the apartment buildings is a pain (but may be less so depending on your distance from...
Read moreCollectively, Woodlands Village is a great place to live. With convenient access to shopping centers, about a 12 minute walk from campus, and close to the Movie Theater, there are many things to keep you busy near by. The rent is reasonable (by Flagstaff standards) and the apartments are okay. The real selling point of Woodlands Village is the staff.
Cons: Some out of date appliances Apartment insides show some of their age Cabinets and Counter tops are in need of replacing Repainting of walls hasn't been done with care and results in minor paint splatters Minor chipping on wall edges No washer/dryer in unit Apartments are lacking in storage space My bedroom door has a large hole that has been patched right in the middle (it's worth noting that I have obnoxiously high standards and these are mostly minor problems)
Pros: New(ish) flooring Bathrooms are very nice and updated Location is great Price is reasonable Excellent community amenities (pool, spa, gym, BBQ areas, lounge) Community events are hosted throughout each month
The most positive thing about Woodlands Village is the staff. They genuinely care about their residents, and are very responsive to requests. Any problems I've encountered have been resolved immediately with the always smiling faces of Dave and Karen.
All things considered, Woodlands Village is an excellent place to live. Knowing what I know now, I wish I had...
Read moreIf you are looking for an apartment complex that's in town, friendly, fun, and professional, Woodlands Village Apartments is definitely on that list! Woodlands is within walking distance of Harkins Theaters, Target, Kohls, and many places to eat. NAU campus is also right across the street. Although Woodlands is in town, it is a quiet complex and surrounded by trees. Very relaxing and pretty.
There are a number of young college residents at Woodlands, however, there also seems to be a lot of families with children living here. The atmosphere is by no means a party atmosphere, but instead is very laid back and casual. People generally keep to themselves and respect others' privacy, but if you happen to run into someone, the residents are kind and will exchange small conversation with you if you like. No weird vibes here :)
The staff do not disappoint at Woodlands. Karen and Dave are the best apartment management team I've ever encountered! Karen is especially helpful and gives her time and attention fully to residents. The management team is very personable and patient when it comes to explaining various apartment matters.
Some cool things about Woodlands: free popcorn available every day with yummy seasonings to choose from, free movie nights for new releases at Harkins, close to everything in town, relaxing,...
