We recently had the pleasure of The Magnolia Pit’s filming experience of America's Best Restaurant, and I can't recommend it strongly and loudly enough!
Our situation became unique because only 10 days prior to scheduled filming we had to cancel because we were informed that due to a building rezoning The Magnolia Pit’s lease wasn't going to be renewed and we were going to have to vacate before airing could occur. I spoke with Doug, the COO who took my call immediately. His understanding was beyond anything I could have hoped for. The cancelation was put in motion. As fate would have it, two days later after a phone call with owners we managed to get an extension of time before we would have to relocate. I immediately called Doug again and left message informing him of our good news and under an umbrella of apologies, asked if there was any way we could be put back on the schedule. Doug returned my call very quickly and told me that he would do all that he could and let me know. After jumping through what I'm sure was a gauntlet of hoops and on a Sunday no less, Doug made it happen, and his staff made it all feel as though there was never a pause. Working with ABR from start to finish was pure pleasure. From Jacalyn to Becky and all those behind the scenes start to finish, everything was top-notch, comfortable and a genuine delight.
On filming day, Luis, our host, was absolutely fantastic! His energy and enthusiasm made the entire experience enjoyable and engaging. He guided us through every step, sharing fascinating insights based on his experiences and culinary understanding and how our restaurant could best highlight our most popular and delicious offerings.
Joshua, the videographer, was equally impressive. His skillful camera work and attention to detail ensured that every moment was captured beautifully. It was evident that he has a true passion for his craft, not even allowing the plates of succulent food to distract him for more than a moment... or two. His skills with the lens were a key part of making the filming process both smooth and fun.
Our great customers helped make the atmosphere of the restaurant electric which added to the overall experience. The food was, of course, plentiful—each dish piled high, and the images captured by Josh and Luis in the social media live feeds truly helped accentuate their visual appeal causing virtual drool from our viewers
Without question, this entire experience with ABR was both exciting and a highlight for me and my staff here at The Magnolia Pit. If any of my fellow restaurant owners across this great country are given the opportunity to be a part of the growing excitement of America's Best Restaurants don't hesitate to take the opportunity to be featured! A huge thanks to Luis, Joshua, Jacalyn, Becky and especially Doug for making it unforgettable and showing us what a fantastic group of genuinely caring and professional people you all are! I can't wait to see the final...

Read moreThis is not what you might think. It's simply and advertising company that uses its platform to promote your restaurant. It's not that that is a bad thing but that it is not sold from the get go as that. It is a TV type program with cookie cutter TV personalities. They charge you, come make a video and begin promoting it. When I scheduled my meeting, I started by asking if this was a pay for advertising type. The answer was a fast no. He then led into the pitch with 3500 to show up for expenses... I stopped him and reminded him that he just said no, that it is not a pay to play. He followed up with, " we do not just except anyone who applies". So the difference is that they are selective who they advertise which is also fine.... then 30 seconds later 4 minutes in to the conversation he asked if I want to book for September, which means they do just except everyone. Which means they are a social media advertisers which is also fine, but sell you product for what it is. I then said that it seems like you do just let anyone in, he replied with " no I did my research before this call and I think it is a good fit". I said "ok tell me about me then" he couldn't tell me anything. I replied to that " this isn't a good fit" he said "I agree. It was a horrible sales pitch from the jump. A Rollercoaster of self inflicted double negative and backwards talking. I recommend that if you go with these guys just know it is a social media advertising company who you pay to make a fake TV show in order to share and market your place. Which as I said, is not a bad idea. I just think this is a bit of a shady way to get into...
