I've been a few times for specific books I was looking for and they can be a little expensive, but what I really go in for is Joe Muggs, which doesn't seem to have a separate business page for information and reviews.
I was initially in love with their Vanilla Bean Frappe, however, that all changed when they introduced the Alice in Wonderland themed drink specials last year, which included a Tea Party Frappe. So obsessed with how great it was, I came almost every day just for a 20oz frappe (or two)... Until they no longer offered it. Honestly, I haven't been in but a couple of times since then while accompanying my boyfriend in the bookstore - not even for the vanilla one. Just like when Smoothie King got rid of matcha, there's nothing similar enough to matcha (or earl gray tea) to replace the flavor I'm missing.
Today. Today was the day! I passed by while heading to Publix and saw a couple of the Alice in Wonderland drink specials on the sign outside. After inquiring about the drinks, they don't appear to have the Tea Party Frappe listed, which makes my heart sink, but the guy working knew the drink I was looking for and was able to make it for me! As he made it, I could tell by the aroma alone it was going to be perfect- he did not fail me! If I get a craving for an earl gray tea blended with a smooth vanilla frappe, then I can stop by to pop in and see if this guy is working and have my long-lost pick-me-up within...
Read moreI like Books a Million--the store that is. We drive about 40 miles to go to it. My kids usually pick out some MineCraft stuff and I usually spend a lot more than I would elsewhere or online. My only complaint is that the tellers always try to push the "10% off membership" that cost $20. When I politely say no, they always push it. I understand that they are trying to build brand loyalty and perhaps make some profit but I really dread checking-out. Tonight, after the 2-part closing techniques to get me to buy the 10% off membership (which I said no to) the girl asked me if I wanted to buy some coffee for the troops. She lifted a little bag of coffee. I asked how much and she said $9.99. I said no and she looked at me like I was a dirtbag who didn't support the troops. I support them but will not by being guilted into buying over priced coffee "for the troops." I'm not sure they make a killing on it and send a small portion to help troops but not even close to the $9.99. Will not be shopping there again for a long time. Get into the 21st century, Books a Million (BAM) and build customer loyalty in other ways besides grilling...
Read moreDidn't have the books in stock we came in for. The girl was then so nosey about what we did purchase to the point of almost spoiling the book my daughter bought. Told us we could order online. Everytime we needed to look up the books we had to go to the coffee counter to call someone. The man in front of us called ahead to see if they had the books he wanted. They told him yes but they didn't have them all when he got there. The excuse was they must have sold the stock before he got there and that their computer don't keep good inventory. So the person didn't pull them when he called. He drove all the way there to get half...
