As this mall was just renovated, there should be a reasonable expectation that all of the tenants would not be closing. More and more stores are going out of business in this mall. Then storefronts are being covered with artwork commemorating Shoals area history. Other stores and restaurants randomly close whenever they see fit with no consistent consideration of posted mall operational hours. This mall is no longer a user friendly environment as they have removed the fountain and all the benches. There are no longer any plants or trees, and all of the kiosks in the main corridor have been removed so there's an unobstructed view of only a few people scattered from one end of the mall to the other. The Sears store in this mall closes 3 or more hours earlier than rest of the mall's anchors. The other anchor stores include a JC Penney, which is barely better than the previously mentioned Sears store and is a terrible example of what this company typically represents. The Dillard's location here is a decent shopping experience; however, it still falls short of the excellence one would normally expect from this company. The best anchor store in this mall is definitely Belk. Though it is scattered between two different stores on opposite ends of the mall, and both locations are typically poorly organized and low on stock. Most of the unique specialty shops have seemingly been chased out by an over zealous landlord who's jacked up his rent after a horrendously failed attempt at a major renovation. The lowest bidder does not usually provide the best work, which is clearly evident in the mismatched carpet pattern that is obviously designed to line up and create a continuous picture but does not. You've fallen short on "Regency Square". What was wrong with that name? Florence Mall is an epic failure and needs a serious re-evaluation if is to survive much longer. Many of us would be happier supporting a local mall than packing the Waltons pockets at one of our area's four Walmart Stores. This mall doesn't promote...
Read moreIm leaving 4 Stars only because this place is a Local Icon and its sad whats become of it just a mere 5 years ago what was the "Move" for anyone young and old? "Hey lets goto the mall!" Now days not so much ... I remember when i was a kid i loved the mall seeing all my friends getting a orange smoothie and if i recall correctly the (Orange Julius) might be rusty on the name but it was a cool spot they used to have a nice arcade we used to spend hours in then we would walk around all the stores then get some food in the food court then head to (Spencers )Still there as of 22 , Then go through all the anchor stores JC Penny and Sears then maybe get some Dip N Dots etc and move on from there ... Now fast forward to today 2022 this place is dieing and dieing fast .. There's no Arcade , nothing in the food court , only a select few stores left "Pretty sure the AE store and Bath and Body works are the only stores bringing in substantial growth and traffic at this point " no drink machines no gumball and candy machines the fountains now a distant memory i mean all i can say about our mall now thats its well boring ... Its been recently remodeled sure but why? It seems they have just lost tenants since then most food places have moved in the mall parking lot (They once had festivals there) No rooms for that anymore i hope the best for our mall but unless storefront rent is adjusted which is extremely unlikely they do more to bring in traffic such as festivals or tent events or something for the kids its not going to end well , But ***Try and support the Florence Mall (Aka Regency Square Mall) there's still a chance for this place as slim as it is ... a man once said "The reason Malls Fail in this day and age is simply because there allowed to fail with no adaptation to the world around them ... Or in this case too much fluff not enough stuff ... Simple but if you got time stop in and support the mall local business .. Or Join the military there's a whole hallway of recruiting offices...
Read moreFirst off I hate shopping. When I get dragged into a mall I expect a few things while my wife shops. A place to sit is at the tip top of that list. They have removed 99.9% of the benches. Second on my list is don't make me feel like a criminal when I sit in the floor because you removed the benches. I might not personally be spending money, but trust me these dang trips are not free or enjoyable for me. Being told I have to get up by overzealous rent-a-cops just adds to the future argument that undoubtedly happen, because I was forced to enter your building against my will in the first place. Threatening to kick me out only encourages me to do more sitting. Maybe if you take my picture next time and ban me from entry I could get out of having to go at all. You know like they did the Angel Tree people at Christmas time. Oh let's not forget the actual Florence police that also patrol the mall... basically if you want to feel unwanted, a bit like a criminal, or constantly watched. You might enjoy the "shopping experience". However if you are a normal male that goes along to make the Ol lady happy, it sucks. Go to Huntsville, even Bridge Street has benches!
2019 update.
They now have a few benches. However stores keep leaving and no one is moving in. So there are a LOT of new walls where stores used to be. Still...
