I love Chipotle but it's never been close to the houses I've lived at so it's a special treat for me. I was having a particularly long rough day and was in Florence so I decided to get Chipotle as a treat! Yum.
Since I had a few of my kids with me and I was still doing errands, it was dark, etc I ordered online so I could just run in and grab it. I saw the new honey chipotle and decided that sounded good so I would have 1/2 of that with 1/2 my old trusty barbacoa in my burrito bowl. I ordered the same bowl I have at multiple locations and for the first time I added a side of chips and salsa.
I arrived a little later than I planned since I got my kids' food first. I went to the side door but it was locked and I thought they had closed early. There was a worker right next to the door so I knocked.. Was totally ignored. So I went around to the front and it was open. Yay! Grabbed my food and back to the car to eat some before heading home.
First I had some chips and salsa... To my horror they were the most stale chips I have ever had in my 40 years. Salsa cup wasn't even filled up. Where on earth had they found these hideous chips?! Surely the bowl would be amazing..
Bowl was ice cold and cheese didn't appear to have ever gotten warm. Hm. First I decided to try the chicken, it was pretty good but... There was only about 4 pieces! How is that 1/2?? I searched but there was no more. There was some rice off to the side of the bowl and some beans underneath but aside from the meat a huge majority of the bowl was red onions? So I basically got a barbacoa onion bowl. Disappointing. While eating the bowl and chips simultaneously because I was in denial about the food clearly. I got a taste of something sour and almost like hand sanitizer? No clue what that was!
I got red and green salsa on the side but the red sauce was horrible so I threw it out. I hate to waste food but even my 4 year olds wouldn't eat the chips. I emailed Chipotle but no response yet. Pretty bummed this is what I got the first time I visited...
Read moreI had eaten at Chipotle in Madison a couple times when visiting there so was glad to see 1 open in Florence. I have gotten all my orders to go. Decided to download the app, thinking it would be handy to order - swing by, grab the order and go. Well, that did not turn out so well. Ordering through the app was handy and went well. Ordered a child's carnitas plate with fruit and milk for the side & drink for niece who was visiting and barbacoa bowl with guac and queso (extra charge for those) with other toppings for me. The app said all I had to do was pick up my order off the shelf inside. Found the shelf, no orders there and it was a few minutes past my time of pick up. So sat down at a nearby table to wait, noticed people coming in and asking for orders, so guess they don't use the shelf. Got the order and once back in the car noticed the fruit and milk was not there. Went back in and asked for those. Got home, started eating, noticed different taste and realized I had carnitas in my bowl not beef barbacoa then noticed it was also missing the queso you pay extra for and the guac was not so fresh since it was starting to get a little brown tinge. I'm not a fan of carnitas so was not happy I had gotten the wrong meat. So if there is a particular dish you like at Chipotle, best to go in and place the order as they make it in front of you so you can be sure you are getting what you want. Then my niece showed me her fruit...see for yourself in the pic, though it looked bad on the outside I cut it open and the inside seemed fine but definitely not fresh. Will I go back if I get a hankering for beef barbacoa? - possibly but probably not soon. Hopefully, they can get their act together and become a great...
Read moreI had been craving a large burrito that I could hold and bite into. I have never been to a Chipotle to eat but my coworker kind of recommended it. I download the app, place my order and leave to go get it. My work is less than a Half mile away. I walk into the door to see a sign that says "Pick up here" over the register. So I walk to it. There is an employee behind the register and another customer picking out her food in the buffet style area they have. The employee rolls her eyes at me and begins talking to the the lady at the buffet area. I give the employee an surprised look at her rolling her eyes and I step back. That's when she speaks to me asking what I wanted. I told her I had placed an order on the app. She responds with "Did you check on the food wall. I'm sure your food is there." in a very condescending way. Of course my food is on the food wall, but being my first time, how am I suppose to know this? As I grabbed my bag, the employee said "You ordered a drink as well, its there." pointing at the drinks in front of her. I got back to my work to start eating, the burrito is cold. Not just cooling because I didn't eat it right away, mind you as I said, I am not even a half mile from there and the burrito is cold. This is my first and last time at Chipotle. If people don't like their job or having a bad then they don't need to be dealing...
