Review of Party for my 9 year old on a Friday Night during Open Skating ! AMAZING TIME and Process. We reviewed the details of the party options on their website, we called and spoke in detail regarding dates and settled on a Friday 530-730 event during open skating. We opted for the food and beverage to be included also. There was no deposit or contract to seal the deal just a phone call and verbal confirmation. I printed the invites for free from the website. I received a call a few days before the party to confirm. Upon arrival a host was at the entrance keeping track of participants and guests as you pay for skaters and the adults. Something I understood but did not care for...I was handed a sheet of paper to list each child and their food preference pizza or hot dog/ beverage selection. By then all the kids were skating and I did not have an invite list to go off. I also assumed pizza and juice for each kid, I planned to skip that and just have them serve all pizza and all juice but a mom friend actually filled it out so I am unsure what would have changed if it was not done. I had two points of contact, Marcello at the door with the count and Matt on the floor handling things like food and anything else. The guys were GREAT ! They did an excellent job of keeping me posted on the flow, and the time to eat, cut the cake, PAY lol. The only thing we bought in were balloons, cake, candle, plates and forks. They took care of everything else. The kids had a blast, and they were excited about how much they got to skate. Small point, even through the party was during an open session there was plenty of space to party ! There was one part my son did not like which was when the DJ said all the ladies and it was girls only that got to skate for a few laps alone. Our set up was bare bones, the party was AMAZING. We will absolutely repeat this. Lastly, I was concerned having to pay for parents and kids as we have a friend group that travel in family groups, not just one parent and kid, its more like mother, father, invited guest and sibling ( which we welcome) and with that the final price was still great. Between reading reviews, the website, and speaking with them directly entire process was great and no surprises...
Read moreI have epilepsy and have trouble with blinking lights. About 2 years ago I paid a tidy sum for a roller skating party for my daughter at Florham Park skate rink. There were several other parties that day. The management agreed to eliminate the blinking lights; no one seemed to notice. There were many other colored lights and geegaws to catch the eye. Today I wanted to go for an evening skate. I called to see if they could accommodate me. The woman on the phone was snarky and inconsiderate. There was audible sighing and I suspect eyerolling. With attitude, she told me they were having parties and people "expect" the blinking lights. Absolutely ridiculous. If it were a matter of Florham Park roller rink policy, if they never under any circumstances made this very minor (but potentially lifesaving for me) accommodation, I could accept it. But the woman's attitude coupled with the fact that I know they make these occasional changes in their practice, is unacceptable. I am deeply hurt by being treated with such disrespect. There are some businesses I will not do business with because I do not like their ethics. I "vote" with my dollars. Well. Florham Park roller rink, until you get your act together an respect disabled people I will be...
Read moreI am currently at the skating rink about to leave. There were 3 tall men in black and white striped uniform shirts that are a huge liability to this skating rink if they are employees. I suspect they are employees, but I am not completely certain. They broke just about every rule customers were told not to do. They spent most of the time quickly swerving around everyone, skating backwards, on their cell phones, or talking to each other. What purpose do they even serve, other than setting a bad example for customers? They seemed to be there for their own pleasure. Customers that broke rules were not told to stop their behaviors, from what I could tell. At one point the guys skated towards 2 little girls that fell. I thought they were getting close to help. They got close and almost made the girls fall again by getting close very quickly and did not help them. This place is wreckless. I would not come here again. As a side note, there was an older lady working that seemed to be helping people. She seemed to be keeping an eye on things. She did not have a striped shirt, so she may not have been an employee, or maybe the only employee (which would make...
