Kohl's — Local services in Fort Gratiot Charter Township

The fort gratiot, Michigan kohls store cut their checkout area/staff in half. Hardly no one in the store today and I waited 7 minutes.

Was there today 4/10/24. The checkout lanes had to have about 25 people waiting in line. Only 2 registers opened. The workers were going as quickly as they can and were very friendly. People are going to customer service to purchase items so they don't have to stand in the front lines. Ones that are actually returning have to wait.

Please help the staff so they aren't so stressed....

9/9/24. I hadn't been in the fort gratiot store in quite awhile. I was there to return an Amazon and kohls item. I went back to customer service only to see it was moved somewhere in the store. I didn't see any signs to say where it went. I walked around and the "checkout", "returns" and "exchanges" are all done up front. There were about 8 people in line, a manager in the area and 3 cashiers. I stood in line for 15 minutes and gave up. This store is not one I would recommend visiting (unless you want to wait in line a long time. The checkout process was very long before, now it's even longer. They have more checkouts available but not...

Wow! What a BUSY STORE!!!! THE LINES!!! WOW!!!! They moved quickly, thankfully!!! I've always heard Kohl's is THE PLACE TO SHOP!! Now I know why, BUT HAVING THEIR CREDIT CARD GETS YOU FARRRR BETTER DEALS than you can imagine!! I did find sizes we're hard to find, and clothes were set-up and scattered all through the store which made things a little difficult to shop for. The employees in the changing rooms need help returning the clothes to the racks they we're worked HARD! The prices are worth it as long as you shop WITH the discounts given to you from having their credit card, again. Just walking in off the street like I just did today, the prices were HIGH! WHEW!! Not with the special discounts and Kohl's cash I will get now that I DID qualify for their credit card!! Yeah! The employee who rang me up said the store will be this busy well until after Christmas! WOW!!! I'm VERY happy with what I got there! I was very tired after shopping there, but I'm also using a wheelchair. Rolling the chair over the carpeted areas was hard, as is usually the case. I LOVE our local Kohl's The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because of decisions made at the corporate level:

1. slashing the men's department was very disappointing. I used to buy a suit every other year and a couple of dress shirts each year. There is no variety now. No need to shop for men's clothes here any more
2. whoever does "purchasing" at the corporate level need to be retrained or fired. I buy clothes for my wife here...at least I try to. The styles are usually very good, but almost always out of medium/8s in the nice-looking women's clothing. Lots of XS and 2XL left. Then walk over to the clearance rack and find lots and lots of--you guessed it--XS and 2XLs on the clearance rack. I am not saying to not have those sizes available, but maybe "tweak" that "bell-curve" of sizes so the same mistake doesn't get made over and over (and over) again for years on end. I've even called corporate a couple times and said same: styles are good, availability of popular sizes...not so much.
