The resort is nice with a pool and really large beach. The service, especially by the reception and management is horrible. I had a very rude encounter at check-in, staff was very unprofessional and rude. No one greets, no one smiles, no hello, they just try to make excuses or point to hotel policy to show why they can't provide you with good service. The resort does not try to give great customer service, it appears to be run like a standard city hotel that will do the bare minimum. Pretty much everything is overpriced ($9 coffee and $20 for a kids meal pasta) and there are extra charges for almost everything. Though they charge a hefty resort fees, you have to pay extra for a basic resort amenity like umbrellas on the beach. No one even told us what is included in the resort fees, and we found out together other guests. Rooms feel like they have cheap furnishings and don't really feel high quality.
Again, really disappointed with the service at check-in. No one cares if your room is ready, you are not informed, desk staff lied to us that they checked if the room is ready (they did not, and when we spoke with another staff member turns out our room was already ready). They are very rude and hostile. Made for a really bad first impression that lasted throughout the stay. Other reviews seem to have had a similar experience, so I'm surprised that the hotel doesn't care about addressing this and feels that this is per expectation.
On the good side, it is a large property, pool was a lot of fun, and the beach is extremely large. We were in a suite which was very spacious with a separate bedroom, sofa bed, dining table. Great for a family.
Overall, it's not bad, the property is quite nice, but it's definitely not luxury and not worth the money...
   Read moreWe love, love, love to visit this Marriott. At least once a year we stay here with our family. This time we only stayed for a night. We traveled to S. Florida to run some errands and I wish I wouldâve had more time to spend another day. The person who checked us in was the absolute best we have ever had at Marriott. Please let Loucianni know his friendliness at check in makes the experience so much more pleasant. Nothing better than to be greeted by someone who cares. We are platinum elite members and he tried to give us an upgrade without even asking (we usually have to ask) Also, at night time, we came with our 9 yr old son to ask where we could buy him a drink, because we got our complimentary drinks and poor kid felt left out. Loucianni, gave my son a complimentary drink ticket and he suggested that he could go to the bar and ask for a piĂąa colada âhold the alcoholâ, which hit the spot because this is our sonâs favorite and it was very yummy. He also remembered my last name! We asked for late check out and he didnât hesitate either. The beach was perfect, although it was rainy but we got to enjoy it for a little bit and we then got in the pool for an hour. We felt like we were somewhere in the Caribbean. You can see how much we loved this property as I took a lot of videos and we enjoyed every single thing, including seating by the ocean at the courtyard. Our room was nice and clean and we loved the view! Although we couldnât get upgraded to Harbor view, we got a partial but it was lovely!!âŚ.we didnât want to go back home! First day at the beach, they didnât have towels. They told us theyâd get us some. I waited for 30 minutes. They never came. Told the server and he said heâd tell them to bring us. They still never came. I went to the stand they told me to go to the pool and get with attitude.
Again today, I went to go get towels, the lady told me she can only give me 1. I told her I have two seats for my wife and I and she just gave me two despite having a pile of towels which I saw her hand to others when they asked for more. I asked if they can bring more and said no so again, I walked all the way back to the pool to grab them from there.
Really an annoying experience. Iâm paying high rates, high resort fees and getting subpar do it yourself service. Really disappointing. There were so many reviews about how the service was great. Literally no idea how thatâs true.
I wrote this as I was there. Asked for my tab and the guy brought me my bill with âauto gratuityâ which the other 10+ tabs Iâve had here have not had. And, they brought us out water every day and never charged and then today they tried charging for it. I explained to the guy that they were always brought out for free the other days why the change and he said he wasnât sure. I told him to take back the waters that he just brought and take it off my tab. Just a weird and shady thing. Not sure how this all goes on here and still gets...
