I’ve always wanted to snorkel my daughter a few years past went in Miami and said it was an absolute magical moment. That is not what I experienced at all!! Started with booking went from 51 to 61because they added $10 gratuity. After you book, it says things to bring is sunscreen, Water, etc., and recommended $10 per person for a tip. The beginning speech on the boat tips were talked about there are stickers quite a few of them on the boat talking about tipping at the end of the trip it’s recommended again to tip. It was a bit aggressive. No problem with tipping, but it being beat in your head seemed A LOT!! It could be Google‘s fault that the directions the email gave me took me to a stoplight so then I was running behind and panicked. Parking if you don’t get validated it’s $67 with validation. It’s $10. Definitely do not recommend going into the market that they suggest if you want drinks. 1-16 ounce can of Smartwater, 1-24 ounce can of seltzer drink and one regular roll of Lifesavers cost over $17. That’s Nine dollars where I’m from. The glass bottom there was one section open and I couldn’t get to it to see it. The other one was closed with a bunch of gear on top of it now let’s talk about snorkeling. This was beyond disappointing my daughter’s trip in Miami,They went way far off the shore to a sandbar crystal Clearwater, tropical fish everywhere coral reef. Where we went was not that far off from the beach, you could wave to the people we were told The water conditions were moderate meaning you are going to get knocked around A LOT, take on water like the Titanic and have the real possibility of drifting, pretty damn far from the boat. After I got myself to relax a little bit, trying to see anything interesting very minimal minimal, coral reef, murky water, and only two types of fish right by the boat. I apparently ended up drifting A significant and dangerous distance away from the boat. I get a tap on my arm, I lift my head up and I’m told you are really far from the boat. I look up and see everybody else’s sitting on the boat, and I am gob smacked how I was allowed to drift that far. This is not an embellished nor exaggerated recall of events either I must add so I promise please do not come on here and say I’m exaggerating cause then I might have another review for you. There was about 11 people on that boat who witnessed it all. Then I had to swim against the current by the time I got to the boat I took on so much water down the throat in the face in my ears in my eyes. Snort coming down my nose. I was exhausted disoriented my boob was out, making it all the more fantastic of the experience for me and everyone in the boat. I felt sick to my stomach. And if you come on saying why’d, you give a $20 tip then? I felt it was required, Second, I said it was because I flashed everybody my boob that didn’t ask to see it so embarrassing, Second cause he had to swim a good ways to come tap and tell me to come back to the boat and . I got the energy I was to blame when now that I’ve had time to think about it that was not my fault that I got that far out now that I’m home and think about the horrific experience, I never should’ve been ever afforded the opportunity to get that far from the boat. The experience Is extremely hard to take anything positive from it. Snorkeling is supposed to be relaxing, peaceful beauty, tranquil, what you’ll experience on a moderate water day is aggressive, chaotic a bunch of people in a small area kicking each other seeing two types of fish that’s it with little too. Hardly any coral reef at all and only one side of the Glass bottom open...
Read moreIf you are looking for a 5 star diving experience in South Florida, look no further and book with Sea Experience. My husband and I recently decided to get dive certified. We chose Sea Experience because of its convenient location to my husband’s work, but we have stayed with Sea Experience because the people are absolutely amazing. It all started with Kirk getting us signed up in the office. We did our e-learning and met our instructor Frank for our first day of confined water diving. Right off the bat Frank was incredibly helpful and really made us feel at ease. Over the three days of getting our Open Water certification he was simply a pleasure. We have since had Frank for enriched air and will start Advanced Open Water this weekend.
Sea Experience has been so much more than just a great instructor. There is an entire team of excellent people that make your dive trip super fun and easy. Their dive boat is well laid out and in excellent condition. Captains Mateo, Brittany, and Collin have been top notch. You can always count on an excellent dive briefing from dive master Parker or Alex.
As we return to dive for pleasure we have gotten to know more of the guides and instructors. Spencer and Jackson are often onboard with other clients, teaching them or showing them around on an adventure. Rick is helping us make the right decisions to future proof some of our purchases as we are thinking ahead to some tech diving in the future. Kirk, who helped us get signed up in the office, is generously sharing his vast knowledge of spearfishing, and Kim helped me pick out a lot of my gear.
This business has the people resources to help you get the very most out of your diving adventure. If you’ve been diving for years and are just looking for a trip while your in town or you’re a little nervous and want to make the plunge into getting certified you can not go wrong with...
Read moreCaptain Alyssa (sp?) and Dive Master Anthony were great.
We showed up at 8am to check in for a 9am departure.
They fitted us for our rental gear and told us where our spot was on the boat. I liked that our seats were under shade. Most of them were.
The boat holds 31 divers, but they said they normally don't go above 25. We had 21 on our trip and it didn't seem crowded.
We have always done our dives in the Caribbean and our gear is always set up for us and we follow a dive master around. Sea Experience was a bit different. If you want a dive master you pay extra and you set up your own rented gear. I'm not saying this is a negative at all, it is just different. While we were not exactly proficient at it, it was good for us to have done it ourselves and I have no doubt they would gladly help you out of you have questions.
Our first dive was at a wreck. We went down and swam around the wreck on our own and surfaced at the boat when one of the divers in our group was at 700psi. Easy dive.
The next was a drift dive. They said head south and come up in about an hour. They gave dive flags to each small group and the boat followed the flags and picked us up as we surfaced. Nice easy dive.
It was weird not following a dive master and after 25 years of diving, it was nice to know that we can do it somewhat on our own.
No shark sightings, but lots of other...
