I remember playing on these same courts back in the 80's. Someone always had a broom handy to sweep the courts for sand. Games were intense, lots of trash talking (all in competition) and fun. You win, you stay on versus the next 5 squad. Shooting with the wind could sometimes be a challenge, but for those who knew the court, it was an advantage. Good to see it has been maintained and updated (Lights?). I used to pay $5 for the whole day. $4 an hour...LOL!

Enjoy if you go. You will have a blast if you like playing basketball.

P.S. It used to get more serious games on the weekends...

One of the most ICONIC basketball courts in America but they want to turn it into another ugly, unused pickleball court for people visiting from New York and Connecticut. Taking away yet another public access space and putting it behind a "membership" for rich tourists.
