PureenMD Skin and Well-aging Center — Local services in Fort Lee

I was searching for “Korean Facials” and PureenMD popped up. I’ve never had a “Korean Facial” before… just regular facials, extractions, etc. I was definitely intrigued after looking at their website & reading reviews on Google & Yelp. I had seen a few YouTube videos of luxurious facials in Seoul & wished “If I lived there, then I can get those facials all the time”. On a whim, I decided to make appointment. They offer a lot of services & I honestly didn’t know what some of them were… so I thought it would be best to talk to them first. It was super easy to make an appt online thru their website & found a time slot for the next day.

As soon as I walked in, I knew this was going to be different. The receptionist (Christina) was very nice & explained the process to me. Since it was my first time there, I was nervous & unfamiliar, but Christina was so kind.

I had my consultation with Dr. Kim & we spoke for a long while. She asked me a lot of questions & was genuinely concerned about my health, my lifestyle, my lack of exercise, my stress levels… the concerns I had about my skin & trouble spots like sagging jowls, frown lines, wrinkles. It felt really good speaking to Dr. Kim. It was like speaking to old friend. Very personable & cared about my well-being! She recommended a few things I could do (small things to start) to just get my life back on track. And since I also wanted to get a facial from them, Dr. Kim recommended the “Lifting Care” facial that includes LDM & HIFU Technology to help with my sagging skin & jowls. For longer lasting results, she also recommended Ultherapy & Xeomin, I wasn’t familiar with any of this technology, but I did Google it once I got home!

I was able to get the “Lifting Care” facial right after my consultation with Dr. Kim. I was surprised they could accommodate me the same day, but also super happy that I didn’t need to make another trip. I was very excited for my first Korean Facial & all the technology that was going to improve skin! The Technician (Nicole) that performed my facial was also very nice! The facial was super luxurious & I felt pampered the whole time. The office is very clean & spacious. It has the perfect balance of a sanitized medical office with the calming sounds & scents (the zen) of a fancy spa. Immediately after the facial, I could visibly see that my skin was more taut, my jowls were lifted up & not sagging as much, & my jawline was more defined. I honestly don’t know if I was supposed to even see results so “immediate”… but it was definitely there! I looked refreshed! AMAZING!

I can’t believe there’s a Seoul-quality skincare place right here in NJ!?!?! My wish came true! I’m definitely coming back to this place on a regular basis. I’m also very interested in some of the other services that they offer (with longer lasting results). I can’t believe that for the first time ever in my life, I’m considering things like Xeomin… but I don’t think I would trust anyone other than Dr. Kim.

I also ended up getting Ultherapy from Dr. Kim, but since it takes 3 to 6 months to see the best/peak results, I will do a follow-up review on my experience with that. But so far, it’s GREAT! Dr. Kim, Christina, & Nicole have made all my experiences at PureenMD so enjoyable & pleasurable! I feel like I’m finally taking care of myself & putting myself as a priority, loving myself. Going to PureenMD is 100%...

I was genuinely excited to visit this skincare center. I even took PTO to make time for my 9:30 AM appointment, which included a consultation with the doctor and a facial. Unfortunately, things started going downhill the moment I arrived. Despite being the second appointment of the day, I was made to wait over an hour. The doctor eventually apologized, but by then I already felt like my time wasn’t valued. After the consultation, I was referred to another staff member who explained the pricing and said the esthetician would determine the best facial for me. But when I met the esthetician, she asked me what facial I wanted. That was confusing—wasn’t she supposed to assess and recommend one? It felt like there was zero communication between staff. After some discussion, she recommended a facial, and I asked if it included extractions. She said she could do it if I wanted. Really? Their pamphlet clearly states that all facials include extractions. I had to insist. Then came more surprises. I was told to lie down fully clothed—no bathrobe offered, even though one was sitting right there. I asked about the skin analysis machine they advertise, and she responded, “Oh, didn’t they do that yet?” That was the final straw. She ushered me where the machine was and made me sit and wait just to tell me that it was not working. The facial itself didn’t feel like a $300 experience. Even the vitamin C serum felt like a single drop—like they were rationing it. Overall, the service was disorganized, underwhelming, and not at all what I expected from a “high-end” skincare center. I was interested in Thermage and did my research and found PureenMD through the official Thermage website where you can find providers - Thermage is user-dependent and I wanted to go to someone who knows what he/she is doing. So glad I found PureenMD! First of all, the office is beautiful, secondly the receptionists/front desk and everyone else is so friendly, professional, and respectful. (They are also very responsive via text). I strongly believe that receptionists can make or break a patient's overall experience - you don't need an added layer of stress dealing with rude receptionists but PureenMD's receptionists and assistants are lovely to deal with. Third, Dr. Kim herself was very down-to-earth, friendly, and welcoming - she loved the questions I asked and she explained everything so well. Dr. Kim's skin is amazing, which is a testament to her knowledge of skincare. I got Thermage, Ultherapy, and Botox in one session. It was painful but tolerable. They give you this hand-held vibrating tool for you to press and it distracted me from the pain. Dr. Kim did all the actual procedures herself and she explained how the machines work and addressed my concerns. During the actual procedure, we talked about our family and careers, and what we like to do for fun. The procedures were not cheap but I think it's worth the investment if you want to age well - they offer payment plans, which helped me greatly. I am going to be recommending her to my family...
