I went on their cheap day, and didn't expect much. I got about what I expected. Some of the furniture was torn up, the rental skates looked like they hadn't been replaced in a couple decades (My left shoe, 11-2 if the owner is reading, I'm pretty sure is internally broken as it was constantly pressing on my toe and very uncomfortable), the stuff I've come to expect from a skating rink, but I wish could be better at all skating rinks. The reason I give a 2 star review is actually related to the culture and things I saw.
For the sake of this review, I'm going to refer to a couple of individuals as K1 (Kid 1) K2 (Kid 2) K3 (Kid 3) and E (Employee). Around the place there are multiple 'no vaping' signs, and I saw K1 vaping almost instantly as I walked in the door at 7PM, right when they opened. I went up to E and asked "Do you guys really care about the no vaping rule?" She responded with "If it's reported, we have to give a ticket" so I said "I just saw a kid over there vaping" and she immediately went to deal with it, which if that was the story, I'd give about a 3 star review.
Immediately after she's done talking to K1, and he did put his vape away, I saw K2 vaping right next to the skate distribution desk, informed the same employee, and she spoke to him as well. Again, if that was the story, 3 star review.
Following this, I saw K2 pass his vape to K3, who I later saw exchanging money for something inside his shoulder bag with another kid, all of the kids in question had to be less than 16.
Still at this point nothing stands out to me as the center's fault, but is an issue that should be dealt with. The issue I have that gets this one star review, is that later in the evening I observed K1 behind the skate counter, which implies that he is likely the child of one of the members of the staff. A member of an employee's family should not only know the rules, but also respect them and represent the establishment.
I would highly recommend the following to the owners: 1: Fix up the broken furniture and the fabric that is pulled from it's spot. 2: Get new skates. 3: If you're going to have rules, they need to be enforced. Now some rules are okay to bend, but I'm pretty sure underage kids in possession of a vape is a no-no...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would! I am an avid skater, and have visited many skating ranks, by far the WORST experience I have had at a skating rank. Walking in, the lady who greeted and swiped our cards was very pleasant! What happened afterwards is what set me over the edge!! That "want to be," Eminem they have working behind the counter giving out the skates was rude. If he wasn't busy laying on the floor with the other guy (the other boy behind the counter was sweet) he wouldn't have been startled to see two customers at the counter. The young man never greeted us, all he said was "give me your license and your shoes you have on because that's the only way you going to get skates!" I told him I needed a 9 in inline skates he told me "no we don't have that size, pick another size, (saying it with the nastiest attitude) as if my feet can shrink or grow a size up! I said "aww man, how y'all don't have a size 9!" As he threw my flip flops he said "because we don't have a size 9 and that's what I said! At this point I'm holding it together very well. The other young man behind the counter told us not to pay him attention because he's new! That is no excuse for him to act like a jerk! I ended up having to wear a size 9 on my left foot and a size 10 on my right foot! I hate to play the race card but I watched other caucasian customers come in and check out skates and no attitudes was given. My friend noticed the same change in behavior. Another thing, they had no one on the floor to help the little ones when they fell down (so I took it upon myself to do so). The two guys were too busy playing "tag," and racing. Very disappointed in my...
Read moreBring my children here often &they've recently been bought out. They have been making some seriously needed updates & adjustments so i was happy about that. Not to long ago i paid for my daughters party to be there. There was only 1 other party that day so not to busy at the party tables. We were told to check in at consessions when we got there so my husband did. About a hour later a lady comes and finds me saying they never got our check in so pizza would take a while longer. That's fine. Now a party package includes a total of 10 children which includes the birthday child & each child gets 1 peice of pizza. When they delievered the pizza it was only 8 slices. Then as we were setting up the cake to sing, the lady manager came over saying we need to empty out thw party table area & move to the carpet area because they were cleaning up early for an event that bought out the rink after hours. So we said okay & started moving stuff to 1 tiny table in the middle of doing cake. She leaves for 2 min & comes back & starts moving all of our stuff. Then she says "these people paid like $1000 so you have to be gone by 5" she was rude & I was like okay well i paid for a party package & you guys didn't mention anything about how we would be rushed out the door. Smh just...
