I made an appointment online to have a tire repaired. I arrived on time and still had to wait in line to speak with someone. After waiting through the line, I showed the employee my tire. After a quick glance at my tire, he informed me that he could not repair it. He immediately began to pivot into trying to sell me four brand new tires. I didn't appreciate this. At least attempt to repair the tire I came in for first, then if it is found to be damaged irreparably, try to sell me the closest economical alternative. He didn't even attempt to repair the tire and instead began to immediately pressure me to buy four new tires of the most expensive brand. I requested a used replacement tire instead. I was told they didn't have my vehicle's size of tire in stock used. Of course not. Why would they have any used tires that fit my vehicle laying around? Subaru Outbacks are only one of the most common vehicles in Chattanooga and north Georgia. I was clear about what I could afford. I was continually pressured and pushed and was given language with words such as "not allowed" or "we can't do x" or "we dont do y." To this day, I still believe that the tire could have been repaired by a professional tire garage; or else what are we even doing here? I finally felt exhausted and aggravated and embarrassed (I mean here they had me to a point of explaining I'm broke and poor in front of a bunch of other strangers in public, which can feel embarrassing). They threatened that by not getting four new tires, it would hurt my vehicle this way and that, anyway, a vehicle can be damaged. Keep in mind this is a 15 year old vehicle. I felt like I was being held over a barrel and eventually agreed to get two new tires of a lesser quality than the ones I had. I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THE EMPLOYEE THAT I WANTED TO KEEP THE GOOD TIRE since I was getting two tires when I only needed one. About an hour later, I got my keys and noticed they put the two new tires on the back. I think to myself, " Are they the dumbasses for putting the new tires on the back, or am I the idiot for letting them? These aren't the types of questions you want to be asking yourself after spending over $300. More likely, they weren't being dumb. More likely, they were intentionally dishonest, greedy, and shrewd because they knew the front tires wear out faster, and therefore, by leaving the older tires on the front, they would need replacement much sooner. Being dumb is much more forgiveable than this dishonesty and greed. After I got down the road, I noticed on my receipt a 2 x disposal fee for disposal of my old tires. I remembered suddenly my good tire I had specifically told them I wanted to keep. I had to stop and turn around and go all the way back down highway 2A through rush hour traffic through all those red lights to get my good Michelin tire that they tried to steal. Also, they kept the bad tire, which I didn't tell them that they could have.! AND they kept the damn donut I rolled in there on, which I didn't tell them they could have! AND they charged me a disposal fee for MY tires, which I didn't tell them they could have! So they pretty much robbed me. Put it this way.. I left there with fewer tires than I came in with when all I needed was a single...
Read moreI went there since it was an emergency. I got a bad leak in my tire while I was in the area. We walked in and a guy was on the phone so we waited a few minutes and another guy walked out from the back and said "He'll be with you in a second." and started to walk out the garage door. My boyfriend stopped him and said I had a bad leak and it was almost flat. The guy grabbed keys and pulled my car in the garage. He sent another guy in to help us. We told them we wanted the exact tire so they all matched. It cost me $165 since it was a Michelin tire on a 2015 Kia Optima. We paid and watched 3 different people handle and put on the tire. As they were lowering it I told my boyfriend the new tire looked smaller. I went to the garage and told them I thought something was wrong. The guy who rang me up looked and saw they put a smaller tire on my car. He immediately started to fix it. How do 3 people miss the fact that a smaller tire was being put on? Not even the one I paid for. We went back inside and my boyfriend made the comment "I probably wont be coming back." The guy who came from the back in the beginning said "Well they are fixing it and they would have caught it when they did the check." I work in customer service and the customer is not always right but literally you have something smart to say when 3 people missed the wrong tire being put on and you were one of the people! Really? I said "They should have checked it before it was lowered and I know NOTHING about cars or tires and I caught that but none of you did." He just walked out the door to the garage. Everyone makes mistakes and I may have gave them another shot and I was even looking into getting one of their credit cards but if you make a mistake and a customer catches it the last thing you should do is have an attitude. Because of that one guy and his smart mouth I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO...
Read moreI have been a customer for several years now. I have purchased several sets of tires for my car. We have always had great service up until today. I have a nail in my front tire. The tires need changed and I told the guy that wrote up the service that I wanted it plugged. I informed him that I am a repeat customer and have been for several years. I told him that I am taking it to be aligned and will return for tires. He insisted on walking me through the chart of tire wear. I listened and agreed, but once again I told him of my intentions. "I Gotcha" is the phrase I heard repeatedly. However, don't think he ever did. He ask me to hold on a second while he checked something. My wife came in and I went to the restroom and returned to him trying to sell my wife on new tires. I had already told him that we would be returning for a set of tires. He continued with "I Gotcha" but never did. When he saw that I was not going to buy them, he then told me that he couldn't safely allow his men to put air in them. What he didn't think of was that my wife stopped there Saturday and they aired the tire up for her and informed her of the wear on the front tires. I told him that would plug it myself and we left. I was going to get it aligned and return for a set of tires as I told him, but now, I plan on having it aligned and a set of tires put on at Goodyear. Not only did he lose a sale, but he lost 2. My dually needs tires and I was going to do both at the same time. I don't like being pressured. I was honest and told him what I was going to do. Now you not only lost a sale,...
