I placed a mobile order for a work lunch on 5/23/2025 and had an awful experience. I visit Mean Mug often and have never had any issues but today was beyond disappointing. I went through the drive through to get my mobile order and there was one car ahead of me in line and one car behind me. I waited for about twenty minutes of nothing moving and the employees not even being in eye sight of the window before I had enough. I ended up getting out of my car and standing in between the car in the front and the window to see what was going on. Keep in mind this is not a drive through that you can get out of if you are in between cars. I even had to wait for anyone to come to the window while I was standing there. While I was waiting, I started talking to the car in the front and they were just as upset as I was. They said that all they ordered was a bagel and they had no clue what the hold up was. A blonde employee finally opened the window and she seriously lacked customer service skills. She was rude and kept shutting the window in my face while I was talking. I told her that I needed to know how much longer because I had to get back to work and she said maybe five more minutes. I told her that I could not be trapped there anymore and needed an exact time and she shut the window in my face. A few minutes later, the car in front of me finally got their bagel and I pulled up to get my food. The lady was giving me a nasty look and did not say thank you or sorry for the wait ONCE. I am beyond disgusted with the service. If you are going to trap multiple people in a drive through where they cannot get out then you need to go car to car and explain the hold up or offer a solution to exit the line. I would appreciate if a manager could reach out to me to explain what will be done to fix this situation.

Read morePart of my order was to have a toasted dark bagel with just cream cheese and smoked salmon. Person in the drive thru confirmed we wanted nothing else on the bagel just cream cheese and smoked salmon. We ended up getting the bagel filled with onions, lettuce etc.
No biggie. Mistakes happen. I went inside and asked them to remake the sandwich and explained what was wrong.
Less than 30 seconds later, I get handed the bagel back and she says, "all fixed".
The same bagel luke warm bagel was returned to me. All they did was scoop out the incorrect items they put in the sandwich. I could have done that myself without coming back inside. My $8 sandwich ended up with disgusting bits of onion and I just ended up throwing it out.
I didnt bother to ask for them to redo it properly. Pick your battles. I just know I'm not coming back. I felt insulted that kitchen staff thought it was OK to behave that way when an order isn't right.

Read moreSo this place has been here for a little while now. When they first opened we tried the coffee and just didn't like it. But, while looking for a new breakfast place today I stumbled back across mean mug. I was pleasantly surprised to learn they have so many vegetarian/vegan options! Now, I'm kicking myself for not going again sooner! They have vegetarian sausages and tofu scramble! They even have vegan muffins! So, we gave it another try and WOW!!! The food is amazing! I do think the tofu scramble is a little too seasoned as I like a bit of tofu taste to come through, but it wasn't bad. It would probably be better on something than just on its own. I also got some seasonal jam (which turned out to be blueberry) and holy smokes. It was the best jam I've ever had. The coffee this time was pretty darn good too. I'm so glad we gave it another shot and will definitely be back. Thanks so much for having items for all diets!
Also, the online ordering was seamless and it was ready when we got there....
