Was lied to the entire time by the employees, who were only trying to make a sale & maximize their commission.
I went in with a cell service problem after hearing from a job recruiter that every attempt to call me went straight to voicemail. It turns out that for the past 3 weeks, I hadn't received ANY inbound calls. :) I was missing job opportunities, but did the employees care? No. They adamantly claimed it was due to my phone being "3G" and that the SOLUTION was to upgrade to a new phone. All a ploy.
Their 1st offer was around $120/mon. And when I looked at the screen and asked what those $30 of addons were, mans really said, "I've never seen that before." Trying to swindle me! Imagine if I hadn't known better. I'd have signed up for their expensive plan, thinking the issue was resolved, only it's not, and now I'm out close to $100 and probably missing even more calls from job recruiters. These people do not have your best interests in mind!
I almost certainly knew that the whole 3G thing was blst or sheer ignorance whilst unwavering confidence. Looking up my phone after leaving revealed my phone supports 4G. It took 30 seconds to verify that smh. Mans also really had the audacity to state that on the back of my phone it was written that my phone was 3G! He must see in x-rays cause I see nothing on that surface.
Not only were the employees conniving, incompetency plagued the responses to my inquiries. They clearly did not know the tools they're supposed to be experts on. I asked one how much memory the phone had, and he didn't know what I meant. I'm never going to purchase a phone unless I know how much RAM it has.
Further troubleshooting on my part revealed that my cell service is perfectly fine, but I pretty much already knew that. I think the problem is a server-side disagreement between my prior mobile service provider and Verizon about who owns the number and provides my service.
Other services provide all I need for $5, so screw that $70-$120 postpaid...
Read moreThe customer service was acceptable. Michael was the name of my sales associate. I was upgrading to a new iPhone because my current phone broke. The associate did not set up the phone in the store and I left with a sealed box with a brand new $1200+ iPhone in it. Although he was unable to help me set up my new devices he was able to take extra time to attempt to upsell me with screen protectors and phone cases. During that time he also dropped the box which contained my brand new iPhone right in front of me. Upon opening the phone at home there was a crack on the screen.
After calling the store I was told I could exchange it at any Verizon store. So I went to the one closest to me before my flight out of town. They told me there was nothing they could do.
After leaving that store I called Verizon and the representative contacted the Pittsburgh Mills mall store to which they told her to have me come to their store to bring the phone in and they would exchange it for free. Unfortunately I had a 5PM flight as I was just visiting for the weekend and I was unable to make it to the store which is nowhere near the airport.
So the Verizon rep told me to wait a few days to find an insurance claim to have the screen replaced and Verizon would reimburse me. So I went online to do that and honestly answered questions about how the crack got there and the insurance company said they are not covering the crack because the phone was not insured at the time the incident occurred. Needless to say I am unwilling to commit insurance fraud to fix the mistake of a public corporation.
My experience at this store has shown me that there is a lack of competency in handling mistakes made by the employees. I would not recommend going to this location or even going to a Verizon store for a new phone unless out of necessity. I needed a new phone out of necessity and am struggling with the choice I made by going...
Read moreTerrible customer service! The corporate Verizon wireless store inside Pittsburgh Mills Mall in Tarentum near gnc, seriously deserves ZERO stars. I am so disappointed in the phone company that I have been loyal to for years!
I seriously have been a Verizon wireless customer for about 12 years, maybe even longer! I went into this store to upgrade my phone. I already knew what phone I was interested in. I thought I would be in and out of the store without any issues. Nope, the sales associate made it harder than it really needed to be. He tried to sell me everything but the darn phone that I came into the store for.

Nope...Verizon can't! You can back it up yourself later on at home.
Finally, can you assist me with my phone start up, so that I'm good to go before I leave your store? NOPE!!! Not unless you buy the $13 monthly protection plan and then we will set up just a phone call for someone to call and help you.

So, I leave the store aggravated, without a new phone... feeling like I am definitely not a valued customer after 12 years of loyalty. Maybe the Sprint commercials are...
