A young gentleman who claimed his name is Rafael was EXTREMELY RUDE at the drive through window of the Popeyes at 1403 West Patrick Street in Frederick, Maryland this evening. This was the nastiest experience I’ve encountered at this restaurant!!! This is my 5th time coming here since I relocated to the area and every other time the staff was polite & efficient. I have no idea why this young man was so cold, rude and condescending but he should NOT be working at the drive through window interacting with people!!! I have never had anyone shut me down in such a RUDE way and be so short with me as if I was a nuisance because of how I ordered my food! I am appalled at the level of disrespect. When I drove around he tried to clean up his initial response slightly by saying “you can ONLY order it like that TODAY” as if I don’t have the option & freedom of ordering my meal any way I please so long as I’m paying for it. He was a young Hispanic man with a TERRIBLE attitude, made no eye contact but rolled his eyes, no greeting, no smile, horrendous customer service. I was not rude back to him because as a Nurse I understand that people have bad days. However he cut me off & talked over me at the drive through window and ignored my specific request (no drink, no biscuit, add gravy on the side) and his reaction and interaction with me was so unnecessarily rude. I’m unsure if he was having a bad day of what, but I am putting this review on Yelp and Google as well. Shame on him for being so disrespectful to his elders! With no apology. I pay money and am allowed to order my food how ever I see fit so long as I am paying for it in full. Him being annoyed and rude was unnecessary and I felt totally disrespected. I do not appreciate having someone young enough to be my child rolling his eyes at me because he is in a bad mood and is stuck at work. That is NOT how you treat a paying customer or people in general. I would leave 0 stars if I could and I am...
Read moreWe placed a $25 order and were told the pies were cooking and would be one minute. Then 5 minutes later we were told no longer than 2 minutes. I've got no problem waiting for fresh food. 20 minutes after the order was placed they packed the fresh pies into a bag of food that had been sitting on the counter far from any heat lamp from the time the order was placed. I asked for food that had not been cooling on the counter for 20 minutes. I was informed the food was "kinda warm" and if I wanted it hot, I could microwave it at home. The cashier was even nice enough to offer to microwave it for me there. Instead of just giving me fresh food. I chose the 3rd option of a refund. I can spend less money if I'm just going to microwave food at home for my wife and I.
While we were waiting for our order, a customer from the drive-thru came in with a bag full of chicken sandwiches that he was sold that were cold. The staff were more interested in arguing with him than they were making sure he had quality food. He was not trying to get anything free. Neither was I. Just the quality food that was paid for.
If this kind of service is OK with you, by all means go to this location. After tonight I will be going over to Buckeystown Pike. Popeyes chicken sandwiches are really really great but poor service and sub standard food handling ruin any good food. Even Popeyes.
EDIT - Two years later and I've been to this location many more times and I have not had any issues close to the experience I have written about above. Nothing but...
Read moreOn a road trip with my pups and one of them loves fried chicken. We decided to stop here to get her some fried chicken in a little for me to. I ordered the red bean and rice And the mashed potatoes to go along with my three-piece dark meat spicy fried Chicken. The chicken was temperature hot and the skin was so crispy. The red beans and rice was pretty good and so was the mashed potatoes. The lady at the drive-thru was very professional and polite. I stopped inside to use the restroom and the ladies room did not smell fresh but it appeared to be clean. Maybe just need some air circulation in there. what's interesting is on my way out of the restaurant I noticed they had a Japanese lucky cat statue a large one on the counter that was interesting. I wonder if this franchise is owned by an Asian person or family. I I love cute versions of the lucky cats and have several myself. It was nice to see it and it just caught my eyes. I would come back again if I happened to be driving by and I hope that they will fix the air circulation in the...
