Always fresh, hot, and delicious! Even when busy, they manage seating & serving promptly, with a smile. Their menu is fresh with new, creative dishes, while maintaining the traditional Mexican favorites. When trying any Mexican restaurant, I judge their chips & salsa. This was the case with Casa Rico too. Thankfully, they have continued to handmake perfect, tortilla chips that are, so light & crispy they won't fill you up, leaving room for the fantastic food to follow. Their salsa is also fresh & perfectly spiced! Casa Rico has a full bar and Mexican beers on tap. They serve very good (housemade?) sangria. It's sweet & delicious, with chunks of fruit and a hint of cherries. Their margaritas are served frozen, or on the rocks, with, or without salt, in many flavors. (Although it is hard to choose between the sangria and their margaritas). During our most recent visit, I opted for the chicken mole enchiladas which I hadn't seen on their menu before. It was FANTASTIC , I was VERY impressed!!! This very well may be my new favorite, so hope they keep it! 😋 This particular enchilada dish is typically served with 2 enchiladas but we asked if there was anyway we could have three instead of two, (since I knew my husband would want 'a bite'). Our waitress offered to quickly ask the manager, who agreed to accommodate our request, for a reasonable up-charge, which she promptly informed us of, we gladly agreed. This dish is served with black beans, rice, and a lovely fruit salsa with pineapple, peppers, mango, and more! This dish is packed full of fresh, tasty chicken (thigh meat I presume ?), the mole sauce that has the perfect amount of heat (spice), smokiness, hints of cocoa, etc. The blue corn tortillas were a beautiful touch, (pic. below)! My husband enjoyed the 'pollo adobada' which came out very hot, in a unique serving bowl. It was filled with fresh chili, packed with fresh grilled chicken, bite sized chunks of steak, tomatoes, beans, and what tasted like freshly roasted chilis, topped with gooey cheese. It too was delicious! This dish, also pictured below, came with black beans, rice, fruit salsa, and tortillas, (flour, as requested). The wait staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their menu. Service is quick and they make their customers feel welcome during every visit. The restaurant is well maintained and clean. When the wait staff is not assisting customers, it's not uncommon to see them tidying up or using the (quiet), brush vacuum to pick up any crumbs. Casa Rico is perfect for a leisurely family get together, a romantic dinner for two followed by any one of their numerous, traditional, Mexican desserts (flan, sopapillas, churros, or fried ice cream - with a choice of multiple toppings, etc.), or simply a quick bite with drinks. The prices are moderate, and comparable to most Mexican restaurants, which is surprising given the high quality, fresh ingredients, and the outstanding customer service! It's refreshing to see the same faces year after year - a good sign of proper management who takes care of their employees. I believe the host/ manager, who is ALWAYS there, gladly greeting patrons, is the owner(?). Casa Rico is a landmark, it's been here as long as can remember, and the food is as consistently as good as the staff! I've been enjoying their fresh cuisine for almost 30 years, and I hope they continue for another 30+! We're now 30 minutes away however, it's worth the drive and we always stop in, if we plan to eat in the area, for lunch or dinner! They have a frequent diner program as well. Keep up the good work Casa Rico, I look forward to our next visit!!!

I don’t review places often at all. This place inspired me to leave one. First of all queso has a ground beans consistency which makes it inedible even for small children with undeveloped taste buds. I knew when I walked into this place something may be off and should have listened to my instincts. The nachos are a disaster and the steak fajitas were not seasoned like Mexican food and some pieces were so chewy I couldn’t even cut them. My carnivorous kids that can destroy steaks and chickens and live for fajitas became vegetarian in one meal. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Casa Rico is casa terible go to chipotle Taco Bell anywhere else save your taste buds and your wallet some money.

I got a fajita taco salad and it didn't have any refried beans in it, which made it a little on the dry side. But the shrimp, peppers and onions were still good. The chips here were a little thinner and the salsa was chunky which I like. But the queso was pretty bland. Our server didn't check in on us or ask if we needed anything. There are so many good Mexican restaurants these days that it's the little things that can make a big difference. Our server did not check in with us to see if we needed anything. He certainly didn't seem like he was enjoying his job. I'm sure it's a tough gig. At the end of the day it's really up to you but I think your money is better spent elsewhere

Terrible! I ordered the seafood burrito with a side of guacamole. Which on the bottom of the menu says if you order sour cream or a side of guacamole with an entree it's an additional dollar charge...no problem. I get my aunt entree everything on it except for the burrito is hot. Thai flag waitress down and told her that the entree was cold. She apologized said she would take it back to the kitchen and bring me a new one. Well I expected to get a fresh made one not the same cold one that was originally served just put in microwave and heated up. Well it tasted terrible the outside of the burrito tasted like rubber. So very nicely told the waitress you know what I could have reheated this up at home I said just take it away I don't want it. She then proceeded to bring the bill minus the burrito but now the guacamole that's an additional dollar with an entree has suddenly turned into 250. When I asked her how come I was not only still being charged for it but it suddenly became extra money she said well that's how much aside is. Then she grabs the bill off the table and says you know what nevermind I'll just take it off and As She's Walking Away precedes to say loudly enough that obviously I heard her I can't stand complainers. So if they employed people with that kind of attitude I highly would not...

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. I have lived in the Frederick area my whole life and have been to all of the Mexican restaurants this wonderful town has to offer. Casa Rico is by far the worst. Went here for a ladies lunch the other day. This was not my first time here, so I can confidently say that this was not an isolated incident. The food is mediocre at best and after the sever dropped our food off, we did not see her again until it was time to pay. However, the icing on the cake was my $17 margarita!!! I asked for a strawberry patron margarita. She brought it to the table with a shot of patron on the side. I confirmed with her that the margarita did not have any other tequila in it, because I do not care for gold tequila. She said that no it didn’t and she just put the patron on the side. When it was time to pay and I asked why my margarita was $17, she said that they charge for the fruit margarita 6.95 and the patron was 10.00. I decided not to cause a scene so I paid my bill but called the next day to speak with the manger. He was very rude and explained that that was how much they charged for an upgraded margarita. Bad business! Do yourself a favor, if you want delicious authentic Mexican food, good service and REASONABLY priced drinks, go to Mexicali Cantina or Cacique. Casa Rico...
