It's a nice place. Lot of love has gone into the restoration of machines in the arcade and their mission is laudable. We've rented their private room in the past for a large group of kids, and recommended the same to others that later hosted parties. We've also come as daily customers and given Spinners gift cards to friends.
Today's experience might be an anomaly. Came to pick up my 11 yr old that's attending a group gathering. I'm here 30 minutes before the party is ending. Don't want to play games, but want to take pictures of my kid playing games. They want to charge me for going back. It's semi-crowded, but not awful. I'll post a picture from the lobby with this comment.
This has never been an issue in the past, but the front desk is being firm in not letting me in to be with my minor without paying. He's ok as there is another adult with him and the other minors. I also didn't have this problem dropping him off. I came in, made sure he was settled, and left.
Maybe their policy has changed. Pennywise, pound foolish if it has. We can spend dollars elsewhere.
Eta: I don't see a way to reply to Cat's management comment so am adding here. First, I did speak to the gentleman at the desk. I heard a comment from another staff member to him that the party was larger than reserved and maybe this hardened his attitude. What neither might have known was that the mother was paying for individuals joining beyond the expected group size. I saw this happening during the drop off period a few hours earlier when a different person was working the desk. Moreover parents wandered in to drop their kids and didn't linger. Only the mother was with the kid group at the pickup time. Second, it should have been abundantly clear to the gentleman that I wasn't happy that I couldn't check on my kid. I've never run into this attitude before, and I know that I've spent plenty at Spinners in the past, but never when picking up. Lastly, when I got a chance to speak with you later, you said that you would make an "exception" to let me go back and collect my kid. The mother hosting the group had already been alerted and was tracking him down. At that point, I had no interest and hearing that it was an "exception" reinforced to me that it's policy to pay to...
Read moreI went to Spinners Pinball Arcade with my seven year old daughter on a Saturday around noon and we had a great time. We were greeted by the staff at the front desk and paid $15 each for entry, which included unlimited game play on all equipment. They are a non-profit organization.
There are multiple rooms with different types of classic games, including some unique games I have never seen before. It definitely brought back a feeling of nostalgia for myself as I remember going to places similar to this as a child. Besides all the pinball machines, some of the other highlights were 4-person air hockey, classic arcade games (golden tee), a live version of Pong, and multiple big screen tvs with classic game consoles.
I saw that they have private party rooms in the back, and I would consider bringing my daughter back for a birthday party.
I highly recommend stopping into Spinners if you enjoy gaming or have kids and are looking for a fun activity for a few hours. The only downside is the limited parking as they share a parking lot with other businesses. I didn't have a problem parking, but when I left, I noticed only a few spots open with a few people parking...
Read moreIf you enjoyed arcades growing up, this is a place you should enjoy. There's over 50 different New AND Old-School pinball machines(I lost count, and just indulged myself: I couldn't help it.), a Basketball Hoop,Classic console games including Galaga, Mr/Mrs Pac-Man, Centipede, Dig-Dug, Qbert, Skee-Ball, Air Hockey, Dancing games and Musical games. They've got a Large multiplayer Pac-Man game, some seated/lounge game systems and one pinball game that's almost twice as wide as the regular sized ones. In the back there's a room with assembled Lego sets in a protective display case. For $15/person (NON-Negotiable/ You enter, You pay), you have all day until they close to play. It's $15 because you don't pay to play any of their games, AND if you decided to leave/ get food and come back, make SURE to let the front desk staff know you're leaving and coming back; you don't have to pay again. Staff is very knowledgeable about things, and it's bigger than it looks from the outside. When you go in and see it, you'll know for yourself. I lost it in there. Felt like a teenager again, and indulged...
