Great furniture and in-store customer service, but ridiculously slow delivery and a general inability to keep you updated once they have your money. If everything I am about to write had been clarified up front, that would be one thing, but we continue to get inaccurate information from everyone we have spoken to.
We bought over $10k of furniture when we moved to a new house because we were told that it would take, and I quote, "at most two weeks." We had already left other furniture stores who had told us it would take longer than that, because who wants to live in an empty house for two months?
It has been four weeks since the purchase. Our first delivery was made as scheduled within the first two weeks, although it was missing some of the furniture we were promised for that delivery. We were told we'd be contacted for the next delivery. After no one contacted us, we reached out directly and were told they could get everything to us by the end of the month at the earliest. That would be six weeks after purchase and their initial promise of a two-week wait at most.
We continued following up (as no one got back to us for a few days, again, after telling us they would call us back) to be told that they were sorry for the delay and that they would do next-day shipping as soon as the furniture was available. Great. Still not ideal, but they were working with us.
Once the furniture did become available, four weeks after the purchase, they completely backed down on the next-day delivery promise and scheduled us for a delivery two weeks after that!
All in all, the $10k+ of furniture, including some pieces that we have to assemble ourselves, will take 6 weeks from purchase to delivery, after being told it would take "up to two weeks" when we signed for everything. If we had known that, we honestly would have purchased elsewhere. We came to Wolf because they checked the stock of everything and gave us a two-week delivery timeline. For that reason, I feel like we were deceived so that we would make the purchase, and then we were left out of the loop for a month.
While we used to recommend Wolf to new friends in the area, it is unlikely we will be return customers anymore. A very disappointing experience for what was supposed to be an exciting...

4/2/2021 - Ordered our England (by Lazy Boy) Sectional (Malibu 2400) and 5 year additional protection plan. ($3489.22). Gavigan's Furniture Frederick September 2021 - checked with Gavigan's regarding delivery 10/21/21 - Furniture delivered to our home (finally) 4/20/23 - Submitted Serve Co claim for LAF recliner leaning to right 5/30/23 - Service call to our home to check the recliner - we had found screws laying underneath the recliner, also on the frame (it seems a piece of wood was loose and cracked) 8/1/2023 - Serve Co states that seat core or cushion needs replaced regarding the service call report. $410.00 plus s/h. The service person stated to us that it looks like the springs and mechanism is defective (although that was not in the report) 8/9: 8/22; 8/23; 8/24/2023- emails All emails are attached as well as pictures taken of leaning recliner 9/6/2023 = Tri County service call to home. Placed the screws that were found and checked the frame. Repaired frame??? My husband had C-spine surgery in October. He had to sleep in the recliner for 6 weeks. Very uncomfortable since he was leaning to the left and we had to prop him with pillows in order to keep him aligned while he had his neck brace. 2/16/2024 - Finally the recliner was taken for repair!! I called on 4/17/24 and was told it should take "about "6 weeks, they will get back with us. Again he had surgery on 4/15/2024 for left shoulder/rotater cuff repair. Unable to sleep in bed to had to sleep on the recliner (the side that was still here RFA) and unfortunately it was horrible. Left shoulder in a sling and all the controls on the left side. This has been a horrible experience for us. sectional. We were so excited to finally have a "good" sofa/ A good piece of furniture that would last a long time (hopefully our lives). This has not been the case. I certainly have been telling all of our friends about the difficulties we have had and to really think twice about where and what they purchase as far as furniture. This has been the most frustrating experience where we were hoping for a great addition to our home. When reaching out to Lazy Boy, they said that their Comfort Care does not handle any England worters. With this being a custom piece of furniture, one would...
Read moreWe bought a sofa, chair and 1/2 and two leather recliners in February 2024. They delivered the furniture and one of the leather recliners was broken on delivery. They said they would send someone out to look at the chair and fix it. I had to call several times to get them to send someone. Now, I should have refused delivery but we didn't know it was broken until it was set up and we actually sat in it. The entire metal mechanism was bent. They said they would order the parts and fix it and that it happens all the time (not a good sign). A month went by and another tech shows up a knows nothing about the part that needs to be ordered. So he says he will order the part. This resulted in more phone calls and Gavigans assured me that the part was on order but takes weeks to arrive. We are 3 months out and still have a broken chair and no parts to fix it. Also, the fabric on the couch is already pilling after just a month and the ottoman cushion has a dent in it just from resting your legs on it. I would highly recommend that you don't do business with these people. The product is crap and service is crap. Once you spend your money they don't care about you anymore. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. I wasted thousands of dollars and I am sorry for it. Never again.
UPDATE - August 2024 It has been several months and still the chair remains broken and unusable. Serve Co. is who Gavigans uses for service. They have not reached out or updated us on the status of the part. At this point I am out of sorts and patience. I called the store, they again referred me to Serve Co. I spent over 10 minutes on hold so I hung up and called Gavigans again. They sent an email escalating the situation. I guess I have to wait longer to see if they respond. But seriously……just shop somewhere else. This is ridiculous….
UPDATE - So the real issue here is SERVECO. As soon as the furniture arrives it is no longer Gavigan’s problem. If you want to lodge a complaint you need to do it to SERVECO. The service manager Amanda G was not helpful or friendly. They have agreed to replace the recliner but guess what???? It’s been so long that they discontinued the recliner so now our recliners that side by side will not match. Uggggghhhh why did I...
