Ollie's Bargain Outlet — Local services in Frederick

((( LONG STORY SHORT A WORKER HERE STOLE FROM ME ))) 3 stars because I really enjoy coming here and getting things for cheap (especially books, school supplies, and candles or oil diffusers). However, when I was moving into my first apartment I bought a bunch of things from here, and I didn't need two if the things I bought. I came back and returned one item, and at the checkout she asked if I wanted my new receipt and I said no. I forgot I had to return a second item, so I came back a few days later. This time a woman probably in her 20's with dyed blonde hair, overweight helped me return the second item. She told me since I didn't have a receipt the money would have to go onto an Ollie's card, which is no big deal because I shop there all the time. She scanned my membership card and said it went on there (about $8). So I came back another day to buy things and the new person at the register told me it is impossible to put money on my membership card. So I'm assuming she put the return money on a gift card for herself, or did the return for cash and took it out of the register...

Okay, so I just discovered this diamond in the rough. Yes, it’s cluttered. Yes, it’s kind of overwhelming. Yes, it could probably use a good cleaning. So what?!?! Who doesn’t love a great deal?!? Ummm...I know I do. I kind of wish I had discovered this place sooner. They have everything from linens, to kitchen appliances, bath products, k-cups, food items, candles, books, paint, rugs.....etc, all at very low prices. I was really kind of shocked. It’s pretty jam-packed. I mean, I was in there for an hour and a half and still didn’t see everything!! They are getting ready to move to a new location, so I’m very excited to see how the new store is set up. I know this place isn’t for everyone (🙄) but it’s at least worth going to see once. You can always find SOMETHING! The only reason I’m not giving the full 5 stars is because they wouldn’t take my 15% off coupon during the 20% off store closing sale. It expires when the store officially closes. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Soooo when am I supposed...

Ollie's is Big Lots on steroids. There is a little bit of everything there. The merchandise is pretty well-organized, but because there is so much stuff the aisles are a bit congested. This is not a problem for me considering how much I save. What Ollie's has that Big Lots does not is appliances, clothing, shoes, and a HUGE selection of books. The Ollie's in Frederick has a mini-bookstore with books ranging across many genres. Most books will cost you less than $4.

The cashiers are the quickest but I've yet to meet a rude one. And let's be honest...if you're going to Ollie's it's gonna take you some time perusing the massive inventory. If you're in a rush, cut back your shopping time and give the cashiers a break...
