I came to Fredericksburg to spend some quality time with my dad because we hadnāt seen each other in a while... I came up here knowing he was sick but not really understanding the full extent of it... Wednesday I got a much better idea of how sick he was... long story short. I had to go out and buy a push wheel chair for him so that we could spend quality time together and see all the sites he wanted to see. But when I bought the wheel chair from Walmart the breaks were stuck to the wheels and I didnāt have any tools to fix it. I even had asked the maintenance guy at our hotel to fix it and he was unable to fix it either...
When I came into ace hardware I had every intention of just buying the tool to fix it and fix it myself. When I asked Dallas for help just finding the right tool, he offered to look at it and when he did he determined which tools he might need and began trying to fix it right there in the aisle!!! Then he asked if he could take it in the back and put it up on top of something so he could work on it better. I am so unbelievably grateful that he did this and was able to fix it... as much effort as it took him to try idk that I wouldāve been able to fix it at all.... Dallas really helps Ace hardware live up to the āhelpful hardware storeā name... if I were the type of person who cries in public I would have been sobbing... my dad is very sick and we needed this wheel chair, and I needed this time with him. And because of Dallas I got to enjoy some of the sites here with my dad and I will be forever grateful for this time that Dallas...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy father came in yesterday looking for a specific model of weed-eater, he told whoever was helping him what he was looking for and the employee pulled down what my dad assumed was the model he asked for. When he began using it today he immediately realized this was not the high torque model but the regular model, no big deal but not what he asked for. Having spent 400 dollars he of course went back to exchange it only to be told he was basically out of luck because āwhat are we supposed to do with a used weed-eater?ā . After a while of back and forth my dad was understandably frustrated and angrily walked out. Only to be laughed at by the employees and manager, a woman I donāt know the name of (judging by other reviews Iāll bet it starts with āMā). Maybe there is nothing that you can do about it, maybe thereās corporate rules keeping you from doing an exchange, but professionalism and kindness above all. You donāt know what someone else is going through and personally I think that laughing at someone who just gave you 400 dollars for something theyāre frustrated they canāt use (especially when your employee is the one responsible for the mixup) is just completely unacceptable and nasty. I have lived here my entire life and have never heard anything but good about this ace and only had good experiences the few times Iāve been in so this is disappointing to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWho knew getting a key made could be such an ACE of an experience? I popped into Biedermann's Ace Hardware to take care of some key business--literally--and walked out with a freshly cut key AND some delicious popcorn. Double win! But wait, the plot thickens. Once I got home, I thought my key ring of all the other keys had pulled a disappearing act. Cue panic. I searched high, low, and everywhere in between (read: the depths of my car seats). Meanwhile, the entire Ace squad was on their walkie talkies, mobilizing like a key-finding SWAT team. Not once did anyone make me feel like a bother--no side-eye, no sighs, just pure helpfulness. Turns out, the keys were just playing hide-and-seek in the car. Crisis averted! The store itself? Clean, welcoming, and packed with EVERYTHING. Need a bird feeder? Check. How about a candle that smells like heaven? They've got it. Wind chimes to add a little zen to your backyard? You bet. And of course, all the hardware essentials--wrenches, hammers, nails...you name it, Ace has your back, honey! So, if you're ever in need of friendly folks, great service, and maybe a bag of popcorn to boot, Biedermann's Ace Hardware is the place to key-p coming back to! (see what I...
