Halls of Hysteria Haunted Attraction — Local services in Fredericksburg

I loved it, I went with my bf 17 and his sister 16, my adrenaline was going through the roof, the scare actors were amazing, kept it professional while still able to have some fun nd joke around a bit, there was a part with the chainsaw guy nd my heart actually dropped nd he chased us which omg when I tell u I screamed so loud while running full speed I was out of there I hate being chased but I love it cuz I get a good reaction out of how funny I sound and look when I'm scared 😭 I definitely was the target out of my friend group cuz I was screaming the whole time, there was a part with the inflatable maze nd when I tell u (his sister went in front the whole time which she offered girl is brave ash) my boyfriend saw the scare actor in the maze around a corner nd he yanked my arm nd dragged me while running I was laughing while screaming he fell nd ran into one of the inflatable walls nd I let go of his hand nd ran past bumping into every wall, it was so fun being chased through that 😭 I was definitely one of the favorites atleast I hope cuz I was screaming nd running the whole time, my bf told one of the clowns my name nd he kept going behind and beside me and saying it creepily nd omg it was so scary honestly but I had to shut my eyes sometimes cuz having to make eye contact with a clown inches from ur face lorddddd 😭 I felt his clown nose poke me a few times nd I wanted to laugh but I was too scared nd my flight or fight reaction is run but I couldn't cuz we had to wait for the other group to get further, but omg definitely a memorable night, the actors nd everyone who helped with it did amazing 10/10 experience...

Went on October 5, 2024 with my wife and daughter.

The Good: Staff is super friendly. Decorations were great. No lines. Different attractions were put together really well.

The Bad: Over priced for the experience. $25 a person plus service fees. Under staffed. No one there to tell you where to park. No signage before turn in which is a tight turn if you're in a big truck or SUV. No signage to direct you where to pay or get in line. Not enough staff in the different attractions. So scare factor was way down. Think there was 1 person in first maze to scare you and 1 in second maze. Missed opportunities to increase scares and overall enjoyment and experience. Nothing else to do once you get through but leave. Nothing to do while you're there other than haunted trail. Missed opportunity to have staff dressed up in scary costumes walking around to scare people.in line etc. Because there was no one there we were done in 10 minutes or less. Having some vendors selling hot cocoa or Halloween themed treats or food trucks, bonfires, etc would make it better.

First weekend ever but hopefully they can step up their game and make it a little better as they progress. May go again in a year or two if they get better. But honestly there are better haunted trails and Halloween themed attractions to go to, especially...

Ticket time was for 8:00pm. We arrived at 7:45pm and waited outside in the cold for an hour. Then we got inside and waited some more. Then we got into the haunt area and waited even more. We did not walk through until 9:20pm.

They were initially letting larger groups but the walkthrough was unable to accommodate proper delivery for scares.

Too many dead areas in walkthrough, especially the inflatable maze. Walkthrough was also too wide, it never felt confined and therefore didn’t lend itself to feeling threatening or scary. And wasn’t dark enough.

Some of the vignettes were cool to look at, I love getting ideas from them, but it certainly wasn’t scary.

Price point was fine at $25 a ticket. Need more workers. Make up and costumes were acceptable. They have got to figure out the line situation and flow of the haunt. Ticket times have to mean something but tonight they were completely arbitrary.

Would be worth a short wait in line, but I cannot recommend waiting for 1.2 hours for a ten minute...
